Interesting FRS 'mobile' radio

Got it in the mail today. Look and feel is good. Haven't really played with it yet.

Odd, there is a speaker/mic jack on the side of the speaker/mic...

Yeah, I know, best place for accessory jacks. Just seems funny to me.

BTW, I forgot to mention that one of the reasons I wanted a 'mobile' was to get the radiating element more than arm's length from my body. Not that I'm all too concerned, but I do ususally hold HTs upside-down to get the antenna out from in front of my eyeballs...

It failed after a month or so.

Any ideas as to why it failed?

That does come in handy. I added one to extend the mic up the seat back. Just a cheap Radio shack speaker mic. Gets it up where you can hear easily running offroad.
