That's awesome to know. I searched LKQ for ya, and they have an air cleaner assembly for $55. Not sure what they'll charge to ship, but the phone for their used parts division is 503.445.7200

The p/n you want is 319-00388, assuming you have the 7.3. You need to know if you have a metal or plastic sensor.

I appreciate the information. I can't make any sense out of it...Everything I read says that the newer style mirrors will fit with modification to both the mirror and the van, but then those TYC replacements say they'll fit without mods. When you check the compatibility tools too, the newer style won't fit the old, but the TYC's will. I'm just going to call TYC on Monday and figure out what's what. Hemming and hawwing now about whether or not to drop the $94 on the leveling kit. Raining here, so can't get out with the DNA to clean off the residue. Hope you guys are out wheelin'

Odds are TYC is going to tell you they fit, because the info they get from whatever Chinese factory produces them says they will fit. In your case, with a 2000 van they Amy or may not be right for all I know. In my case, 1992 E350, all the eBay places said they'd fit yep yep no probrum. They did not, 2 times, I think from 2 different suppliers.

Now with all that said, making them fit was not that big a deal if you're patient and don't mind making it work. In my case one of the mounting legs on the mirror needed to be removed (hacksaw), and a few holes drilled or enlarged on the van door. I can't really remember without going to look. And I believe I had to extend one or more of the mounting bolts on the mirrors because they didn't reach through both layers of the door. Like I said, not that big of a deal, and I like these mirrors wayyyyy better than those god awful tripod based rejects from the 70's that came on it.

If you go to that Belafonte thread (mine and how I dislike that name) page 56 you can see what I'm talking about.

that's a ************ ambo, amigo. Thanks for the info on the mirrors. It's nice to know I can put them on there regardless.

Thanks. She's been(is) a ton of work but it's getting there. Yeah, as long as you've got basic tools and a functioning brain stem its not a big project. If you get around to doing it don't be afraid to shoot questions my way. I'll do my best to answer. Some correctly and most truthfully, depending on mood and alcohol content. :)

haha yep. Sipping a delightful Grapefruit Sculpin from Ballast Point at the moment, and the g/f brought me their pineapple to try as well. The rain settled down this afternoon, so we got to scraping the sticker residue off the van. Here's what she looks like now. Not too exciting...had the cowl off to replace the T in the windshield washer hose.

Filters are all ordered and inbound in preparation for the change over. If the title comes in this week, we may try for a maiden voyage next weekend.

Gotta say, lack of a title makes me nervous, and is usually a deal killer for me. I don't know if it's universal or not but here a lost title is a trip to the BMV and about $10 or so and if a seller isn't willing to do it, I'll pay parts price or I walk. Never heard of having to order one, but there's 49 states out there I haven't lived in for at least 25 years.

I hope it comes through because man, that's got to be the deal of the year already if it does.

Normally it would worry me because here you can't register on a bill of sale alone, but I bought it from a business, and the guy just couldn't dig it up. Here, you can either go to the dmv or order a replacement online, but going to the dmv here is about as desirable as getting a leg caught in a wood chipper. There is a chance that something may go wrong, but I feel pretty good about it. He had two days to find it, and called first thing that morning to say that he couldn't but had already ordered a replacement, and he even offered to give me money back while I waited, so we'll see. Time will tell, but I'm hoping it works out. Hell here you can even choose to not have a paper title anymore, and strictly have it on file digitally at the dmv.

Noticed a fuel leak today when I was warming up the van. Seems I have a leak coming from the water drain valve on the fuel filter. It's coming from inside the tube as opposed to around it, so not sure if it's that the valve wasn't closed all the way, or if it is warn out, or if it is still just that the o-rings are gone. Will crack into it when I go after the fuel filter.

Went ahead and got the van prepped for the fuel repairs, so I'm just waiting on parts at this point. Here's some bikeporn to tide you over.

How do you haul that Fattie around? I'm looking to do something on the back of my Ambo that doesn't include a hitch mounted receiver. I want to mount something to one of the swing out doors that will hold the bike to the door like its the worlds best mountain climber, and I don't want to have to remove the front wheel to do it.

On my Taco I bought Softtoppers side mounted rack mount, and then bought a Rocky Mounts Brass Knuckle Fattie version. The problem with that is the mounting system on the Brass Knuckle places it so far forward on the softopper mount I can't open the rear drivers side door.

Thinking about mounting the Brass Knuckle vertically to the back of my Ambo but I have to do some testing to see if I think it can handle the load in that configuration.

Right now it rides around in the bed of a T100. :p I'm not sure yet how I'm going to put it on the van.

As for your situation, why don't you make a bracket that will clamp around the tire/wheel, and use a wing nut for quick access? You could swap a nylok on there for long trips, and it would be pretty easy to design it in such a manner that would allow you to put a padlock on it. One on the top and one on the bottom for each wheel. I can draw something up if you aren't following me.

Was googling some stuff and came across this bit of carnage.. http://forums.mtbr.com/fat-bikes/fat-bike-pops-off-roof-rack-994827.html

Hey amigo. So this is what I'm talking about...sorry for the crude drawings. The bike may be too long but, if not, you would still be able to open the door as the bike would swing with it. I would recommend welding the bracket directly to the door as opposed to through bolting, but whatever's clever. Just posting links since I uploaded these in jumbo size.
