iOS/Android topo map app capable of caching an entire (or multiple) states?

For max hi res map data on Motion X GPS HD at a zoom range of 3-14 (full zoom range from minimum zoom to max is from 3-16) it should fit several states but if you try to push it to the max zoom of 16 your 64GB ipad won't have enough room. Not even for the state of CA.

We had the complete Westcost of Africa in MotionX GPS, using 20 Gb. Most of us overlanders do shorter tips than crossing continents - so you can also go with higher resolution.

To be honest, you dont see more tracks on Level 16. But it may help to find a hidden camp spot.

Recently i was able to backup and restore MotionX with a bunch of preloaded Bing Hybrid Data. I have to do an additional Blogentry about. But i have to approve and re-test everything bevore.

Personally i dont think that Zoomlevel's > 14 is worth the extended Downloadtime, if you cant choose really small spots for that.

The Delorme inreach App has a much more worse Zoomlevel outside of the US, and consume a lot of memory - no alternative for an world trip..
