Is importing a WOELCKE AUTARK Explorer (FUSO based) from Germany possible ?

Mercedes might allow you to purchase a US Spec sprinter in Germany as part of a "tourist delivery program". With the cars, you just return them to the factory and they ship them over to you here in the US.
Not sure if they would be keen on the idea of selling a cab/chassis and than having to ship a full outfitted camper back to the US, however.

I would buy one of these if it was available here for sure. Build quality is SO MUCH higher than the junk we have hear in the US.

On a parallel thread, I also contacted Bimobil, they did reply in English, and they put me in touch with someone who is attempting to distribute their "Husky" pickup-based models in the US---possibly as early as 2017.

Hi - sorry - did not look at the portal for a while. I gave up the FUSO idea for a couple of reasons:
1. I want to carry a motorbike and realistically the truck would probably be overloaded when doing a bike rack on the back
2. Do not like the new LowSulfor Diesel engines
3. The plan I had to buy a used one here - build it up in Germany and ship it back to the US turned out too complicated - so I have not further pursued it
4. I decided to get a STEYER 12M18 (built in '89 and therefore OK to import to US - cross your fingers that I get it imported and registered here), I bought it in Germany last year - having a KrugXP cabin built for it in the Ukraine (just posted a Threat here on the Forum called "EXCAP STEYER 12M18 marries KrugXP'). Hopefully the 'package' will be ready middle of next year.

Oberaigner 6X6 is another option for Srinter Off-Road upgrades and I know a guy who also bought a KrugXP cabin, having it fitted to a 'pimped-up' Oberaigner 6X6 Sprinter by Hellgeth Engineering in Germany. He plans to have it shipped to the middle-east - so he is not dependent on the stupid US import limitations. Check-out his site: www.timstraveltruck.rocks
