My '96 FZJ80 has been my daily since I piked it up in the middle of March. Been sorting out some things, making it mine. Mostly stripping it of broken flares with rusty hardware, and getting new wheels and tires. I need to chase some stuff down like a sunroof leak into the cabin, getting the lockers to work, and general cleanup of the undercarriage from 20 years as a New England truck. But it's really quite a nice change of pace from previous vehicles, and I'm getting used to moving along at its pace. It gets driven about 40-50 miles a day, and is averaging about the same fuel mileage as my '07 F150 2wd used to.

Putting it to work:
As it sits now:
Wheels are Wheel Vintiques 12 Series, and tires are General Grabber AT2 285/75-16. I've removed flares, what was left of the running boards, hood deflector, rear spoiler, etc. I'm going for a clean and simple look. Plans eventually include a rear swing out bumper, a winch mounted behind the stock front bumper, and a stock height OME suspension. Probably the removal of the stock roof rack and the installation of something more useful, too.
No. I dont think so. I am playing around with some plugs for the holes for now. I will eventually weld the holes up and fix the paint. The clear on top of the driver's front fender is shot too, so I can tackle that at the same time.
Maybe. I'm kinda partial to the black. I'm trying to track down some inexpensive 60 series hub caps to see if I can figure out a way to fit them. That would break up the black on black of wheels and tires.
Mine has been a daily driver for almost 3 years now.
Plans are to Vortec swap it soon so I picked up a Fox Mustang to drive in the meantime. The convertible I just drove back from California. A friend of mine gave it to me. Has a lot of good parts and makes 435 rwhp and 515 rwtq which will be swapped to the hatchback.
Mine used to be, it was my daily for a long time. Once I started commuting 40 miles to work it wasn't really practical anymore. Now that I'm working from home, I'm driving it a lot more just to do errands and stuff with again. I forgot how much I enjoyed just driving my cruiser around town.
