So the truck sat in the sun all day and when I checked the inside in the late afternoon it was maybe 10 degrees warmer inside. :victory:

Has TLC decided on final pricing on the diesel kit? Is it California Legal?

I'm panting for that swap, but hope it's within my limited means.

Cheers,

Beware with the old vehicles that any flaw on the glass will show much more after tinting - there are some rubs and scratches in my old rear glass that i didn't know existed!

Our hatch window is pretty scratched up. I think I'm going to get a new one installed prior to tinting.

Yes, good eye. I really like them but I found out the other day that they weigh 36 pounds each and have reasoned that something lighter might be better for the mpgs.

Is the new motor a piston in sleeve design?

Good question. The materials I have don't say. I'll check.

One thing I'm finding that is starting to be of concern: parts. Yeah, I should have thought more ahead, right, but right now I can only get parts from England of all places which means with the exchange rate and shipping, an oil filter could be $40 or more. Yikes.

Navistar (which owns International and operates their 8 plants) is trying to help but so far no one in the US is importing this engine and its parts. Only the engine.

I really like the TX1 Outbacks. 19 lbs. and plenty strong.

Welcome to the wonderful world of owning an oddity! I've become very familiar with Australian and Canadian parts sources with my last two rigs!

The paint really does look better (you know it was an improvement if you can see the difference in photo's). Did you have some work done on the hood too? I seem to recall some damage towards the front of the hood, passenger side. Or am I thinking of someone elses rig?

Looks good without the stripes...if you need someone to take care of the other thing (that you don't want Jonathan to know about), I can send the contact info for the guy that did the graphics on my GS

At least the exchange rate is more favorable to us against the Canadian and Australian dollars. The Pound is still $1.45 USD.

I would go closer to 10" wide. Much better stability, especially when you need to air down.

No hood work and the passenger front panel still needs to be painted - soon!
And the, um, cat's out of the bag regarding the additional decals. Jonathan saw them.
