It's done! 3.0-liter turbo-diesel FJ60 from TLC

x2 on the Dynamat, best mod I have done to date on my 60. The cheapest place I found to get the Dynamat Extreme was amazon and FREE shipping.

he's right, I've used Dynamat multiple times but RAAMAT kills it in my opinion... excellent sound deadening and unreal adhesion, awesome customer support, and a great price to boot. Looks like his next generation stuff is on sale now too. I did the inner and outer door panels alone on my 80 series and it made a dramatic difference in blocking out road noise. 2 years inside the doors and it's sticking like no tomorrow, you will not get this stuff off. I would be amazed to see what doing all the doors and the floor would be like! One note though, this stuff is heavy.

Thanks for the input on the sound deadening, gentlemen. I'm researching options now.

The FJ60 will definitely be front and center at the Overland Expo in 2010.

May I suggest Second Skin Audio?

I just used their Damplifier Pro on my FJ80 and am extremely happy with it. The gentleman that owns the company is named Anthony, is a Cruiser Head, and located in Phoenix; I'm sure he'd be more than happy to go over options with you.

Realize that dynamat is asphalt based and stinks to high heaven whereas the Second Skin is butyl based.

I'm sure you'll be plenty thorough with your research though.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree on the smell of Dynamat as I have never had any issues with it. :sombrero:

So, will Rose's Cruiser make an appearance at SEMA
or the Off-Road Expo this year?

As Jonathan said, the 60 will be front and center at Overland Expo.2010, just as it was in 2009. The reason I started the Expo was as an overlander's alternative to those shows above. Couple of great differences, besides it being 100% overlanding: anyone seriously interested in this engine / swap, I'm happy to take out driving on real dirt roads so you can see it for real; and second, I don't have to dress up in a skimpy outfit and high heels to show the truck. :Wow1:

All of a sudden I'm not annoyed that the coffee pot was empty when I walked through the break room a few minutes ago . . . I don't have coffee, but either does my keyboard.

edit -- of course, Roseann won't get to enjoy your comment for a while. I believe she is on her way to someplace cool...

The wonders of the internet . . . I'm sitting in Nairobi sipping a Tusker and reading Expedition Portal. And as a matter of fact, there are a few leopard-spotted things here! And cheetah . . . and zebra.

Power here is on and off (hydro electric grid is down due to drought, I heard) but the guest house has power tonight and a wireless connect.

I'll try to post as I can - cheers!

I am interested to find out if you are running wheel spacers as I was under the impression that those wheels were too deep on the back side for a 60 series. I'd like to run them on my 60 with the 255's but refuse to run a spacer.

And Jonathan getting up close and personal with some leopard spots (actually he's contemplating how he can make sure the cover 'accidentally' falls off . . . ):
