Cape Disappointment

Got to do a bit of surfing in the area here. Well, I tried at least. Give me a break, I'm from Missouri.

We just made it into Astoria. Goonie country! Its all their fault. Damn movies. I blame it on India Jones too.

Still good, we are in Astoria. Have been hanging out through the weekend seeing the sites. We are heading out today and heading for the coast. Seaside area.

Nice pictures. I hope you guys enjoy your time in Oregon. Since you guys seem to like goofy touristy stuff, stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory, if you make it down the coast that far. If you're there during the week, you can tour part of the plant (for free!) and see how cheese is made. Be sure to pick up a package of "squeaky cheese". They've been getting snow on Mt. Hood over the weekend and this week, so skiing/snowboarding should be good up there as well. Check out Timberline Lodge, it's where they filmed the Jack Nicholson version of "The Shining".

Thanks for the info. We are actually heading to Mt. Rainier for the weekend, so I hope its as nice up there. "The Shining," lodge sounds cool to check out.
