Found out that I'm going to have a baby boy this fall! The Nissan and I have been exploring as much as we can before dad mode kicks in. Went to West Virginia, all over Michigan, and then up to the Upper Peninsula. It's been a great summer!

Thank you gentlemen! I'm looking forward to sharing my adventures with the little rascal once he's old enough. Although with myself, my fiancé, two dogs, and a car seat, the Xterra is going to be a little cramped.

I might smell a 2nd Gen Frontier or 3rd Gen Pathfinder in my future sooner than I anticipated...!

OP has been updated - completed mod list and new picture after a nice weekend gear reorganization / clean up!

Also had an opportunity to get this Explorer's feet wet. Awning mounted, rooftop tent, cargo box, and some light camping.

Few things to update:

Because of my fantastic perks from work, I am able to utilize our company vehicles to drive daily. The Nissan has been garaged for over four months now, and I've been keeping the old girl on a trickle charge to keep the juice fresh. I also start it once a week and let it run for about 30 minutes. Having an interesting issue - the trickle charger works great, but I don't think my battery is holding a charge anymore. I just had the starter replaced last year, and the trickle charge says "unable to charge." I get no response at all when I turn the key over. No clicking, no churn, no lights. Suggestions?

Other than that, I finally figured out the rooftop tent + awning setup, even though I cheated on the Xterra and used a rental Expedition. I drilled through the frame of the tent and used the same L-brackets and bolted it down. Fits nice and snug, and worked out really well.

Got the ol' girl back on the road this weekend. New battery, new master cylinder, new Wildlife Conservation plate, and picked up a Thule skybox. Need to get some welding work done to the bumpers and sliders and the build will be complete!

Oh, and the car seat mod has also been initiated

My kid is going to be learning Star Wars vehicles on every car ride...
