I pulled my computer and sure enough a couple capacitors were leaking. I can get a refurb from napa so I am going to do that and keep my original computer to get repaired. It appears to be $6 in parts if a buddy can do the soldering.

Now that is a rack!!!

Finally got my SUP/Rooftop monstrosity built. It is 1x2 aluminum stock, and weighs about 40 pounds, for reference my Thule roof basket weighs nearly as much as the entire rear portion of the new rack. The cross members over the rear are moveable as are the front Yakima bars and the option to add another set up front. Pretty sure the basket will be coming off and up for sale as soon as we get back to 'Rado, it is 10' to the top of the Thule basket so anything in/on it will be that much taller :Wow1:

Great rack set-up!!
I'm trying to decide how to do mine. I had not considered aluminum, but like the idea of keeping the weight down.

I am not really entirely happy with it but we had to scrap our original plan and fab on the fly. The A/C unit is massive and massively in the way, we tried to configure it so that I can add solar to the front bottom portion of the rear rack or once the basket is gone maybe just put the solar on the Yakima bars. I think the cargo loops we added to the rear will be a nice addition for lashing the SUPS and kayaks. At this point it will just be a live with it and tweak as we go scenario.

Heading out tomorrow night or Tues. morning! It's been, well lets just say it's been... Anyone along the way have suggestions for must see attractions. Going to run I-10 across then up, route may be up for discussion if there is something wicked cool to see:coffeedrink: My brother in law is driving with me and he is from South America so wanted him to see something other than the bleakness that is middle America. (no offense middle dwellers, I have criss crossed this great nation several times and that is my opinion )

Having explored this country extensively (mostly on motorcycle) the best tip I can give you is to stay off the freeway!

The freeway was designed to move cargo quickly. It bypasses all the cool towns and sites!
