Jeep pickup conversion kit now available $5500

It would be cool if that flat floor piece was available by itself as a kit for JKU folks who just wanted to pull the rear seats out.

If im not mistaken, I believe you can buy the individual pieces as well, instead of buying the whole deal, but I may be wrong. That'd be an option for that rear seat delete.

Rust bucket?

As soon as I saw the bed of the Jeep completely, I thought instantly, "rust bucket?" I'm concerned about water getting in between the outer and inner bed panels and the fact that a "door" is installed on the inside side from the outside before the outer panels is bolted on. Wouldn't water get trapped in there somewhere and cause rust-out eventually? I need to look at the AEV Brute kit and see how it works for the Jeep...

What I think is very interesting that Mopar/Chrysler gets rid of the rear part of the roll cage for this conversion. This could/should mean that for 2 seater camper application, it could be OK to eliminate the roll bar too. This would give the JK Habitat or the Phoenix PULSE (not sure about the official name) completely new freedom in how to lay out the living space; the entire rear section could gain stand-up height, greatly improving in-cabin living.

Has anybody done the conversion yet?
Has anybody a photo of the conversion with the roof taken off? Need to see the rollbar.
Will this ever be a stock option? Any realistic rumors?

Would be great for Austria to have a pickup because we have 20% tax plus additional 14% gas consumtion tax for diesels or 16% for gasoline engines. The state calculates the 20% first, then on top of it the 14% or 16%. This adds up to 36,8% or 39,2%. Disgusting.
.
To have a commercial truck saves all taxes if you have your own bussiness. I wonder if the Fiat marketing now will realize that. Italy is our neighbour country.

This is stupid.

If it can't go into the Jeep with the seats folded down and the top up, it probably isn't meant to haul it. Get a small utility trailer and a tow package. It will get you further and do what its meant to do.

I was unable to locate any business selling the kit.....anyone else try?
As a pickup there isn't much merit in the design...but... it can be a baseline for other spin-off Overland vehicle concepts

There is a part number for Chrysler. Go to the service desk with $5500 and tell em you want that item.

That's nice and all...

...but why not really commit and sell an honest-2-God J8, pick-up option, leaf springs in back, big axles, diesel, etc...?

x2... I would do something like this on my LJ maybe but since they already have the ability to make the J8... bring it over here with a real engine and tow rating!

Look at the video in the first post. At 25 seconds, you can see the JK with the rear portion of the roll bar removed.

Thanks. I've seen the video but this isn't a regular install. There is on xtra part that maybe connects the cut off tube with the floor.

I wish Jeep would just build a truck already. Plus the AEV Brute looks like something that the factory would of done and this kit looks like something someone would design in their back yard. Only see a handful of consumers buying and a few going to SEMA builds.

The fact that AEV has not released a Brute kit for the JK gives us a little hope that Chrysler will finally introduce a pickup model themselves. But remember that Chrysler already sells all the Wranglers they can build in a year, and they are still recovering from bankruptcy.

Or it may be that Dodge and Jeep are fighting over who gets to sell pickups. A Wrangler J8 with a slightly longer wheelbase and a V8 seems like a winning combination.
