First top (post above), the vinyl ester didn’t kick as soon as the polyester I was used to.
Alligatored the Gelcoat from wet resin sitting on it too long and ruined the whole part, and the surface finish of the mold (again). Had to pull it as a throw away.

Since wetsanded the mold all again. 500 > 1000 > 1500 & Polishing Compound.

PVA went down much better with a different spray technique. Slight orange peel as is expected from PVA, but a nice solid film that made the part pop right out this second go around.

It’s been a long journey, to say the least.

Maybe you could sell the throw away to someone who doesn’t care about looks/finish to recoup some of the cost?

It’s an idea. I was only one layer of glass in though, so it was yanked before any real bulk of materials was use. Used it to test fit for everything, but it already has holes and cracks just from pulling with that thin of glass.

Onward to the next chapter of this build
