JK/J8 Flippac rumor??

wow this is very cool. My wife will need a new rig next year and this just solidified getting a JK. Having it enter over the rear seats is too cool. I like being able to keep the rear storage intact.

Glad to see your company step up to build the JK Flip-Pac for us. A few quick questions that I think I already know the answer to:

1) Do you have any prototype drawings/renderings/CAD that you can show us? Would love to see what it will look like.

2) Will the forward hinge be above the windshield/A-pillar, or a bit behind? I suppose there’s no possibility of keeping the Freedom Top panels for open-air wheeling? That would just be amazing!

3) Regarding the gear shelf above the rear bed of the jeep, how deep is it? About 18”?

Regardless, congrats. Can’t wait to see it!

I gotta see this!!!

we got a 4dr due to the TWINS being expected (and now arrived)..

we want to keep her "garage"-able..as is the reason for our GTRV mod of our e250 that im doing...but the jk topper would be VERY nice with it being a new vehicle and the comforts of modern tech (the van's a 85...but in great shape)

the price is VERY reasonable...Im excited to see even just some "teaser" pictures..

What about the LJ owners?? Any plans for something for us?

It's not a big market, as the production runs of the LJ were so low. If you amortize the R&D costs over the % of LJ owners who would buy something like this it adds substantially to the sale price.

Mario, I've bit my tongue bloody around some campfires over the last couple of months... glad you finally announced the good news.

X2

Glad to see the announcement and to see this finally happen. I think this is going to be a very exciting modification for a JK...I can't wait to see this.

Like others, now I am tempted once again with buying a JK just for this. It is really what I want.:victory::wings:

Now if the JK came with a v8 or turbo diesel...

Jack

Stay tuned. A diesel version is pending with the 2010 model year JK and while its immediate availability in the states hasn't been confirmed as of yet, we're hearing that it may actually be which is very exciting. Again, stay tuned... ;)

This is some exciting news. I have been pondering how my family of 4 and possibly growing it to 5 would work out while camping. as my kids grow sleeping 4 in the eezi awn 1800 will get tight and knowing that that that means I will get pushed out looking for somewhere to sleep and being spoiled with a RTT, I will never go back to the ground. I poundered a rack for the top and another RTT for the future. That will add up to over 3K very fast. The JK flippack is a perfect solution. Sell the current hard top and the soft top. That will get me 1 to 1.5K for the new top. I am anxsiously awaiting to seeing the prototype in pictures and in person. Now to finish up some projects and find some $.

I think some hardpoints in the top for yakama rails so a kyack or surfboards can still get mounted on the top i s a good idea, sure you would have to take them off to set up camp. but that is better than leaving them at home.

Please give us some teaser shots it under construction.

Holy Cow! I never thought you guys would actually build one. I even gave up checking out this thread. That's great news and will be awesome to see!

Ah! Come on! You know you want to build a LJ version, your just in denial. Or just a tease. Heck if ten is all it takes put me down for the first one. When do you want the down payment?

Oh man, yet another reason to trade the TJ in for a 4 door JK! The price point seems very reasonable. Looking forward to updates like everyone else.

flippac for LJ

Martyn if I already have chaser trailer #45 cant I have lj flippac #1? Maybe I will just save my money and put the kids on the ground in a tent, but it would be sweet for short trips where I dont want to bring the trailer.
