Nice. Love the personal touch!! What all did you do? (sanding, coats ect.)

Thanks, no sanding was necessary as the can was in great shape, but I did several coats of primer (I didn't count) and it will take 203 coats of the pink over the primer. I might need to sand a couple of spots where it dripped due to my sloppiness. I used Rustoleum. The guy in our local hardware store's (not a big box) paint department is really quite an expert on paint. We discussed sealing it but he didn't think it would do much to protect it from the gas.

I put up the axe/shovel mounts today. I saw this mod in several forums. Mounts consist of Yakima Universal Mighty Mounts and quick clips, with a replaced center mounting bolt with a longer bolt.

Nice set up! Maybe instead of bigger tires I should have bit the bullet on one of those gobi racks:oops:! Anyways nice to see someone else with the aev 2.5 lift. I absolutely love mine. Are running spacers with those wheels?

Dang nice build....Why can't I find a woman with your tastes? lol!
On a side tangent and seeing your in PA....Any suggestions on spots to explore in that general area? I'm headed to VA/DC in a few months as my new duty station and know very little about that part of the east coast.

Bald Eagle State Forrest is a good place to start.

Sorry - I totally missed this while on vacation and forgot to catch up. No spacers.

I need to make it up there as well as down to West Virginia.

I updated the OP with some photos from my trip west last fall. Better late than never.

I picked up an M416 for the tent so I will be starting an M416 thread in the future. I will post a link here when I am ready. I purchased the trailer from ExPo member Rightovercrest: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/94757-1966-M416-in-NEOhio-Tailgate-added-850-obo Right now my step-father is building a lid for it. I plan on adding a battery box and perhaps a receiver extension to help with backing up. M brothers decided if it were them, they wwould just unhook the trailer and turn around and then reconnect. :)

Great looking Jeep! I look forward to seeing the rest of this build.

Just a couple of questions that may help me with my Jeep build, as it looks like we have similar tastes:

What's your overall feeling on the AEV 2.5"? Ok, good, great?

Why didn't you like the overhang of your RTT facing the rear of the Jeep?

What kind of front end droop did you experience after putting on the aftermarket front bumper with the AEV?

Highly appreciate your time, and again: great looking rig.
