That tan 101A1 is the trailer that inspired my build.
Found my 101A2 and started the refab.
Rack, RTT, water tank, Kitchen, Awning, and Hot water yet to come.

Removed the non working surge system, cut off the landing leg and replaced
the Lunette with a four position hitch channel. I use a coupler with a 2" ball and a extended Lunette.

Thank You!

I am itching to start back on the build but mother nature has other plans.
Up and down temperatures and mud in the yard don't make working outside fun.
I am going to order the parts for the RTT rack this month and start getting that ready.
The camp kitchen is in the works and drawn up for build.

I am looking for a good deal on a LARGE RTT.
Pennsylvania is behind on cool camping gear stores Bass Pro Shops has RTT's but they are high.
Craigslist is a no go nothing good in this area.

If you could shoot some pictures and post them.
Axle arrive yet?

Try IronMan4x4.com or Camel4x4.com for their RTTs. They are having a special on the tent and annex now, and shipping out of their US warehouse in NJ may not be that bad for you. Several of us here in the South bought them, and we've had very favorable reviews thus far. The price with shipping was quite a bit cheaper than the other brands we looked at.

Wow... thanks! That is a nice trailer. BTW I just received all my parts to copy your hitch modifications....extended lunette, 2inch ball coupler, and coupler channel. As soon as the weather stays decent here in MI, I am going to start. We had a week and a half of 70's and 80's. Now we are back in the 50's and 30's at night. Waiting for warmer weather to start pulling stuff apart.

I love these trailers!

Mr. Harley!

After seeing your build I went out and bought an M101A2 for my own project.

Is there any market for the parts I dont want to keep?

I have the wiring harness, tail lights "one case is busted, but internally good", 4 frame bows, wood is rotten, but I have the complete set of hinges and pins.

Also, I really love the sierra 4x4 lids... are they the only ones out there making them?

Derek:

Sell them on Ebay!
Craigslist and SteelSoldiers.com are two great places to sell also.
Take pictures and start a blog. I love my M101A2.
Congradulations!

Awesome build....

Mark,

Just read your build thread and your trailer is coming along nice. I bought an on-demand hot water heater from Amazon that I will be testing in a week or so. I will let you know how it goes.

Awesome build. I am picking up a 101A3 in the next week or two and plan to do a similar build. I already have the RTT and an awning. going to pull them off of my 100 series Land Cruiser (LX470) and put them onto a rack on top of the 101A3. I can't wait to see what you do for the kitchen. By the way. I highly reccomend CVT or http://www.cascadiatents.com/ Bobby is awesome to deal with and honest. His pricing pretty much can't be beat. Anyway thanks for starting this post and doing such a great job documenting your build.

Thanks,
Kirk D.

This past week I got the build bug again and headed to my favorite store ebay, I have been selling various items and made paypal money so it does not feel like I am spending my hard earned money.

I bought a propane water heater for washing dishes and showers "I have three girls who like to be clean"
to have ample water to use I purchased a 30 gallon RV water tank. I am happy with the size, It fits nice between
the wheel tubs of the trailer. and since it is over the axle It should be stable 30 x 8 = 240 pounds!

I built a light steel cradle for the tank with a plate to hold a pump.
Got the 12 volt water pump as a birthday gift from mom and dad " still a kid who wants toys" even at 42.

The cradle will sit on rubber feet and be secured to the trailer with straps and "footmans loops" also from ebay
a little Paint and some hose fittings and I should be in business.

I did find a deal on matching RED plates, bowls and tumblers the chuck box I have in the works.
They were at Target and on sale at $1.99 per set of two.

More to come.
