Looks great! I would go with the three color camo too.

Don't worry about your welding...mine look the same but they always hold! I never have been able to figure out how people can lay down such nice welds.

Rain delay on trailer work

It has been raining and too humid to paint the tub.
I still need to take the frame to work and have the receiver welded.
need to wire the lights and mount the new 8000LB safety cables.
I hope the weekend weather is better.

7.5 gallon Journey can arrived today

I wanted several gas and water containers for the trailer.
The taller 5 allon Jerry cans although nice seened too tall for my needs.
I came across this website that had New style cans from 2.5 to 7.5 Gallon capacity.
They came in Polished Stainless, Red, Green, and Yellow.

I took a chance on a 7.5 Gallon Journey can listed as green.
It arrived today and is red. All the better It will be for gas.
It is a nice size, 17" tall, 14.5" deep and 10" wide.
They are steel construction with a rubber seal and self storing plastic spout.
they come with a cast metal cap and a screw out vent.

The can was $57.99 with shipping but I had paypal money from ebay sales to pay for it.
It doesn't hurt when I pay that way!

I plan on buying one more 7.5 to be painted blue for water use only.

Not to put a damper on your idea but if you plan on using it for drinking water I would say try to get one designed for water. The water cans (blue ones) have food grade liners. If its just for washing and stuff like that then go ahead and get a red one and pant it blue, but it will rust pretty quickly.

Cool build!

Balzer: Good advice.
I think I will need way more volume in the water department with My Wife and two daughters with me.
I am looking at a poly flat tank from an RV to mount under the frame.
I was talking to my wife about the Gas can on the tongue, We both agreed that it should be locked down to avoid walking off.

Hillbilly:

It has become a fun project, I see others builds on the forum and want to do more to it.
I hope to paint the tub this weekend. Weather permitting, wiring needs finished the rear receiver is being welded on today,
and I will touch up the frame with black again.

In the RED!

The weather was Good and I was home early from work,
I had paint mixed at work to paint the tub so I took the chance and fired up the Harbor Freight HVLP $12.99 spray gun.

I mixed the paint, catalyst, reducer and activator and away I went.
I shot 6 pots and 5 coats of Mathews HOT ROD RED to cover the original camo paint scheme.

The paint set up good and covered well.
While it was drying, I mounted my new safety cables.

Here is todays progress:

Question for the forum members: What roll on bed liner did you use on a project?

I really like the build so far. I will be tearing my new to me trailer down shortly as well and redoing it all as well.

As for as DIY bed liners go I really liked the duplicolor liner I did inside my last truck but I used a shutz or undercoating gun to spray it on. It is something you want to be up wind from when you spray it but it went of very well and lasted.

Pieces and parts

Sapper, Balzer:

Thank You for the bed liner info.
I will check them out.
I really don't need the rubberized protection so flat black spay paint may do.

Today I went to the local community yard sales.
Here is the $1.00 item I bought.
A safety chain bracket. I will take it to work and have it welded with my Rear receiver.
My wife laughed because I carried it around all day.
I was not going to tow with the trailer but you never know when the mood will strike me to haul a
combination of my M101A2 and canoe trailer to an ERIE beach.

I will wire the lights next week after the welding is finished.
