Dual cans now, gas strut assist and LED tail lights...

If i didn't spend so much money going to dual spares and swapping out my swing outs , i'd think about it.

Nice! Still planning on shopping for a new rear bumper this spring. This might be at the top of the list.

I would happily buy your Kaymar off of you Dave and we can work on swapping out tire carriers, etc......

The strut assist is supposed to be available as a kit to upgrade the older bumpers. I have tried to order the upgrade kit from Kaymar Oz, but haven't heard back from them yet. The dual cans are nice!

Let me know what transpires with this. I might be interested Andrew. Did you buy an 80 or are you referring to your 60/62 you bought?

I was interested in it for the Kaymar on my 62. The kit appears to work on most of their swing-outs. I'll try to contact them again, otherwise was going to put something together as it looks pretty basic.

I was "that close" to pulling the trigger on a Kaymar....I am glad i just saw this post. I wonder when Man-a-fre or TLC will begin getting the new bumper in? Does anyone have an idea on how much it will cost?

That is a thing of beauty but way beyond my price range. When you compare to the price of custom fab work, it'd quite a bot more.

I spoke with Man-A-Fre this morning and they are not aware of a strut retrofit kit, but they are expecting a container with a few "new" items from Kaymar within the next two weeks. I sent another e-mail to Kaymar this morning, hopefully will get a response this time.

Yeah they usually take a day or two to get back to you. We have an email in on the SOCAL80's board too.

Does Steve-O still work at Man-A-Fre? He never replies to my emails anymore.

Post up MAF's answer when you get it. I've sent an email to Kaymar/AU as well asking if the new dual jerry can swingout can be retrofitted on an older bumper.

MAF's site only lists RH (assume that US PS) jerry can swing outs left of the single can version. No more DS I'd guess.

Nice to see the revised rear bar!

Interesting to see that they've completed the update. Last year at the March Brisbane 4x4 Show, I spent quite a bit of time with one of the fabrication leads for Kaymar as I was in the market for a rear bar. They had a newly designed rear bar for the latest 70 Series here in Oz. There were some very nice design updates and he mentionned that they were going to re-vist all their previous design and update them beginning with the best selling models.

Nice to see a company taking advantage of the down turn to improve their products.

Having built my own swing out from scratch, the value for money you get from a quality supplier such a Kaymar is worth the cost.

Cheers,
P

Any company that builds Toyota bumpers with 5 bar aluminum (rover-esque) accents gets my vote! :sombrero:
