I'm kinda jealous. I built my own bumper and have yet to even start the tire carrier. Proud of my work but...dang I wanna spare carrier!

Well, are you all ready for some sticker shock?

Thanks for the info. I sent that off to Kaymar with the following:

hello, My name is Adam and im located in Southern California. There are a few people on a discussion board that are interested in your D40 Nissan Navara rear bumpers (tire carrier) and would be interested in possibly getting a few sent to the states for pruchase. We found your website and thought that your product looked very well built and looks great on our Nissan Frontiers/navara's.

But there is an issue. You have a dealer, Man-A-Fre located in Simi Valley, CA that had send some "uncomfotable" prices to one of our members. i wanted to see what your thoughts were on these prices and if they are correct. a descent Front winch bumper for out trucks (which as you know is almost double the amount of metal used) and they go for @ $850-$1200 in the states (depending on additions). rear off-road bumpers in the states go for $5-800 (depending on the addon's you choose. ) Here is what Man-A-Fre sent us:

Are these prices due to the shipping costs? and the weight of the bumpers being shipped over seas? Some clarification would be highly appreciated. Please let me know when you have time.

well hopefully they will explain it in a response email if they aren't too busy. that's almost a $500+ markup just for shipping cost if anything. Once I get a reply from Kaymar themselves, i'll be sure to post it up.

Hi Adam,

The prices Man-a-Fre have given you are exactly the same as our selling price from our door in Australia .

So given to Aus$ and freight his prices are very good.

Also please note we had a 6-10% price rise effective 1/8/08 due to escalating steel prices.

...ugh

I'm impressed that you got a response.

Still . . . price doesn't matter. Availability does. Perhaps that means availability of money.

Clearly this bumper is way beyond the quality of workmanship and execution than that of the KMA bumper.

Anyway, the Kaymar FJC bumpers are similarly priced.

yea i was amazed too. I thanked her for the quick response, and told her once the market gets better for our trucks and the US dollar increases in value, i'd be in touch again. I also explained to her how in the US, this is really the only mid-sized truck that most companies aren't putting on their list for modification. It's a real shame. maybe a few years from now :-\

Thats why im looking at BMW momo cycles for expedition use. Use my truck for local campings and next state over stuff, then the BMW for cross country.

Cool bumper. A bit spendy... but sort of in line with other bumpers coming from halfway across the world.

Ive contacted Kaymar many times with a great response everytime. Just give them a day usually, they're asleep when you email them :hehe:

MAF apparently is the only US distributor so they could certainly get the bumper in a future container load (or however they import). Slim chance they're interested in stocking parts for Nissans . . .

I wonder if they make one for an Xterra. I would like to get the gas cans of the top of the truck. I also like the double swingout.

Well I did not read through all the posts before I posed my Xterra question. The price quoted was very high. I might be a lot cheaper to modify a Shrock bumper.
