Kaymar Rear Swingout Bumper: Nissan Frontier (D40)

Kaymar makes a rear swing out style bumper for the Nissan Navara / Frontier now. It's an Australian made unit, and the Kaymar name is well known with Land Cruiser owners. My understanding is that they have a good reputation. That's good news.

Features include:

• Integrated tow hitch
• Swing out tire carrier and gas can holder
• Panel protection
• Lights

MAF is a Toyota shop, really they are just a Land Cruiser (and FJ Cruiser somewhat) specific shop. I'm sorta surprised if they stocked the Frontier bumper. But they do stock some other stuff, mostly OME and ARB stuff for 4Runners and Tacomas, so it's possible.

Yes. That's part of the bummer here. However, a sale is a sale, so I'm sure a special order isn't out of the question. MAF apparently is the only US distributor so they could certainly get the bumper in a future container load (or however they import). Slim chance they're interested in stocking parts for Nissans . . .

That was my thought. They could probably get everything in the Kaymar line, but you might wait 3 months for the next container to come in. But who knows, if Kaymar wants to legitimately support the US market, then they may tell MAF to warehouse a certain range of part numbers. One phone call is all it takes!

Are you ready to ditch your KMA for this bumper?

I think they'll be willing, especially for 3-4 bumpers purchased, to add this to an order from the manufacturer.


However since I just ordered a KMA two days ago, I think I'll be sticking with the KMA (for better or worse, and I hope to god I don't eat those words) for quite a while before I can justify a better (and most likely more costly) rear bumper.

Most likely (for me) any mod replacements will be done after any mods. Which is to say if I replace my air intake with one I don't like, any other air intake will be last on the list of other things that are needed. So if my KMA sucks, I'll replace a TON of other crap before I get a Kaymar.

With that said, next priority is the cover for the new trailer.
