I would think the grip compartment and the compass make this a top shelf knife.

Actually the opposite. Full tang knives are considered best. Those are prone to breaking where the handle meets the blade.
 
i have the BG fixed blade thats in the OP. keep in the truck along with 2 smaller knifes. my EDC is a (spring or auto) assist smith and wesson Black Ops, i got for christmas last year(2011) i keep it on me every where i go. use is a lot, also for self defense i can’t carry a gun yet, got about 5 months before i can. but have EDC a knife since i was 17 or 18, if i was not in school. will get a pic of all of them soon.

It's a hobby, in free time,sometimes I give them to friends.

That mora is beautiful. I Love te grind on those blades, have many of them myself, though with a plain plasitc handle :( . Too bad you are so far away, i would apply for an apprenticeship! hahaha
