Ladder to roof rack

I've noticed that I've been crawling up on my roof rack a lot more to stowe gear of put the tent away. The problem is that I have to crawl on my spare to get up on the rack and a few wet mornings its a little hairy.

So are there any of the Jaos style rear ladders out there??? I like hove Dave's is (or was at one point) set up on his 80, so Im looking that route.

Any ideas are welcome.

Hey, i just noticed we are neighbors... I am in Long Beach also..
Anyhow...I always thought this was a nice idea. It is a folding step system that mounts to your spare.

Funny how small our world it. I'll pm ya my number I'm sure there's tons of stuff we can talk about..:ylsmoke:

I was looking at that the other day. But I've been considering getting another spare holder for the ARB in the rear and welding a few AT gas can holders to it. I really want the extra gas but Don't want the extended range gas tank...anyway I digress....So if I put another spare tire mount I think that will get in the way....unless I could mount it on the outboard side....oh that's a good idea...thanks

When I lived in San Diego, I stopped by Aluminess for another matter and they seemed open to doing custom work.

I'd be interested in what options you find as well, I know that there are JDM ladders that someone on Mud can get, but when I checked with him for measurements it looked like it would interfere with my rear tire mount as it attaches to the rear window hatch.

I wish i could give you more info on our ladder.. but i can't.. it came with the INTI when i bought it. Some one off thing someone made in Venezuela. But it doesn't seem hard to duplicate. Just have some fabber build you a ladder that swings up with a pin. That's all ours is. In fact we modified ours because it was too short for the 80 series.. it was originally made for a 60/62.

Here's some shots of it a few years ago.

On the SMB we had an Aluminess ladder.. it was expensive, but thats partially because its all aluminum and very light. Very well made product and Dave is super nice to work with. I wonder if you could make one fit if you chopped the legs off? Then again that would suck to hack up a great product. Maybe he'll make a stubby version? Dave is pretty flexible with stuff.

The japanese spec ladders are cool, but many don't go all the way down and i feel like i'd snap on of those suckers at 240lbs :D

The mounting instructions (even if they are in Japanese) are on the thread. Looks pretty strong.

Hey Dave I had another question for you. How do you mount your limb risers to your front bumper did you just drill a hole and bolt them (pics please:))
