Car Show Pt II
My last Saturday in-country, Marc and Michelle took me down to Morges (on Lac Leman) for the British Car Show that was in town. There were a few Land Rovers!
This side of the bed folds down and out, so that a case can be loaded in the back. This 109 pickup was an army conversion, they were issued with Swiss army tail lights, blackout lights, and a weapons case that contained an officer's equipment (to be kept at home). More below.
This model was nicely restored
Next to it was an 88 series IIA, in the correct army green and included blackout lights up front.
Neato Tomb Raider edition!
These Series were very well used and extensively modified
Loved the centre console on this one.
I
REALLY want one of these plaques.
Another army model. Little story from Marc: So these were issued to a few officers in the reserves that were allowed to keep them at home for limited personal use. They came with a case that contained all a soldier's equipment, along with tools, rifle and pistol, and ammunition. Essentially just enough to operate long enough to make it to the officer's assembly point and mother unit. When doing reserve duty, the vehicle would be serviced in the army motor pool at regular intervals. After his term of service was up, an officer was allowed to keep his rover!

This practice apparently continued at least until they adopted the Puch G Wagen.
Notice they do not have LR lamps, instead they were fitted with army standard ones so that the military would not need to keep so many proprietary parts for vehicles.
This sticker I want also
These folks arrived during the show and parked nearby. Union Jack on the roof!
