How difficult are the trails going to be Scott? That is the right time frame for me to be in Denver, but I am not bringing the jeep, I'll be in the dodge, with no armour.

If the trails are friendly enough, pencil me in, and I'll talk to the boss about scheduling my summer vacation tomorrow. It would be cool to meet up and give me a great reason to get out and visit some of the places I haven't been in way too long.

Scott, I'd love to join in if the trail is something that can be run in a basically stock Pathfinder (or a basically stock Trooper if I have my $$$ together by then).

Hey Scott,

I might come up for the Elbert Hike, I've been meaning to hike that mountain. I don't know where Lilly lake Camp is. Is that near Twin Lakes? If I go, I'd likely drive up on Saturday and meet you guys at camp and hike with you the next morning. Five thousand in elevation gain is pretty hard, but the trail is listed as easy since it is a gradual climb on a good trail.

Hey Chuck, what do you have going on after the hike? Back to work, or another day or two off to go fishing......

I would love to attend this event and the timing looks great, just a few days before my birthday. I would like to attend in a Landcruiser of some variety, either my 80, my 60, or could end up in a new FJ Cruiser. :D

Probably back to work. The Brazil trip is wiping out most of my vacation time. I might be able to take Monday, we'll talk closer to the date.

Ah yes, the Brazil thing. I forgot about that.

Hey Scott, I talked to the boss today...go ahead and put me on the list. I need some trail info though.....because I don't have plans for sliders this summer. If I'm going to need them, I need to know far enough in advance so I can build them (and it isn't going to be a easy job like the tacoma's....the frame dimensions and weight of the vehicle will make it a challenge).

This past summer, I had a fun stop over in Leadville on my way back from Minn.

I headed up toward Westin Pass to find a secluded campsite. I got stopped along the trail due to beavers that had damned the stream and flooded the trail.....(I was in the Buick due to 4Runner engine probs)

I found one pic from my campsite area. I could look west and see Mount Elbert! It hailed on me right after I got my tent up!......Late August!

What a beautiful area!.....I just stumbled upon it.....I had never been there. Headed back to Leadville the next morning to the Golden Burro......or something like that. ......walked the town and took pics. Had a slimey egg thingy.....and just loved the old town atmosphere!

.....and told myself......I have to come back here one day!

That view from the stream is actually facing Mt. Elbert. .......but you can't see it in the mist.

Hmmm, old stomping grounds. Sign me up, both Durango60 and I. I need to pass this through the CEO/CFO (wife) but the COO (Chief Offroad Officer, me) likes...

Hey Brian,

I dont think the trail will be Dodge friendly (in its current configuration), as it is a high mountain rocky trail with trees and boulders. More technical than most I run.

The trail will not be stock 4wd friendly, though I will try to get more info from Nathan today.

OK, let me know. I still have a little time to get some work done on either the Dodge, or the jeep, should I decide to take it instead of the Dodge. Really, the only reason I am planning on taking the Dodge is that it is more comfortable than the jeep on the freeway....At this point, the Jeep is just as cheap to drive due to the price difference between gas and diesel, so there really is no other reason to take the Dodge....

Is there an alternate route back to where you will be camping?
