Leaf Suspension Tech - Planning for my 04' Tundra

Yes they're both the same at 2 3/8" or 60mm. Nissan Titan's are also the same. According to SD Truck Springs specs Titan springs are only 1/16th of an inch shorter from front hanger to center pin. Exact same from center to rear. And they also have an extra ~1/2" of arch. I'm not sure if you'll really notice any difference from using the stock Titan springs, but if you were combining packs, using some from a Titan sounds like an option.

Thank you for confirming

I've been contemplating this for a while now because I really need to do something. I've thought about building a DIY pack of different leaves but I don't think I'd get the lift I'm after. My original idea was to get a set of Chevy 63's and cut/mix them under my main leaf. From my research it looks like the stock Tundra packs have a 8 7/8" arch. The Chevy's have a 7 3/4" arch. Based on this I don't think I'd get any lift and possibly sit lower? I know that the weight capacity would be higher on the Chevy's so maybe they wouldn't squat as low? Tacoma's stock arch is around 6" which explains why they get so much lift.

I like the idea of the G57's but from everything I've read they won't do well for loads.

Alcan's are probably the only other option for keeping the stock hangers.

I built my custom pack out of cut down Chevy 2500 HD leaves. I kept the stock main leave and cut the Chevys down to work with it. I carried 3000 Lbs of cement in the bed of the truck and was still not on the bump stops. The total cost was around $150 including gas and new center pins. I also got 4 inches of lift out of it.

I've found a set of stock Tundra pack takeoffs. I think I'm going to grab them for cheap, cut the eyes off the main leaf, add it as the 2nd leaf in my pack, remove my helper spring, and go from there. I know that the shocks are limiting me so that will be the next step.

I think that the shackle is the main reason these trucks have such a hard time flexing. I'm just trying to get the best out of the stock hangers for now.

For anyone looking to replace the stock 00-06 Tundra leaf spring or shackle bushings, I discovered while doing some R&D, that the shackle bushings are the same EXACT physical dimensions of the leaf spring eye bushings, but far more expensive.
I can't say whether the rubber is a different durometer or not though. Just thought this might save you some money

90389-A0007 Leaf spring bushing ~$3 USD
90389-A0006 Shackle bushing ~$16-20+ USD

I may be able to offer high quality poly bushings and sleeves in the near future as well

If anyone wants the stock leaf packs with shackles, I have a pair for $100. It's from a 01 tundra 4x4.

I picked up my set last weekend. They're off a 04 2wd and look very clean. I'm currently collecting parts to do a full refresh and will take lots of before/after measurements of all the different combos. Anxiously awaiting the shackle flip Rickashay/Seanpistol are brewing up.

I think you mean Eric "E.Roy" above at Archive Garage! Hes doing the brewing... Sean and I are doing the drinking/testing. Gunna be a game changer for us 1st Gen Tundra folk. Now we just need someone to step up and build a proper bolt in leaf pack that supports additional weight without going fully custom. I keep debating if I should buy another stock Tundra leaf pack and create a hybrid pack.

Can't wait! I think the stock pack + shackle flip will give way to much lift. I'm thinking about removing my AAL and tossing in the two longer leaves from my donor pack. So I'll end up with a stock pack + the top 2 leaves of the donor. I think that will give the lift and payload I'm after, without the overly harsh ride I have now.

My shackle flip/leaf pack combo adds an estimated 3-4" of ride height over stock. It's built around a deaver G57 stock replacement spring which adds some lift due to being thicker than stock. I don't have good measurements on this part. The shackle flip itself only added 1.5" ride height with a modest 5" shackle. My shackles are mounted as high as possible on the frame. I wasn't after crazy wheel travel numbers ~11" is all. More could be achieved with a longer spring, but id rather have a shorter truck. I didn't design the shackle layout, I had a pro do it.

Some of the fab shops I talked to said a shackle flip couldn't be done without 5+" of lift. This is not the case.

Truck is 01 access cab with a bobbed bed. Pics are in my post history I'm on mobile now.

Not going to give any numbers as we don't have one of these kits installed but the goal was to keep the shackle flip kit to minimal lift using the OE shackle length. Additional lift could then be added with a longer shackle. These units are CAD designed and laser cut. The prototypes look outstanding and this is not the first kit of this type for Archive Garage, so I'm very exciting to see results.

Stay tuned all!
