As far as electrical , most of it was gutted by previous owner. no radio no dash . for some reason they installed power doors but never hooked up the power. I'd love to go diesel but it looks more like we will be building a twin turbo 4.3 stroker for it. I like the power I have now but 8 mpg cuts into my fun budget. Living in offroad heaven has its advantages because vendors are everywhere here and deals can be found all day on craigslist. Lake Havasu city Az.

I'm just getting into the 6.2,6.5 platform and I love it. I know they don't have the best rep but if they are used in there realm of use they are great. A twin turbo 4.3 would be pretty sweet. Should move the truck very well. If you do start a build thread. Lot of pictures. :D

A year on the road. That sounds like a great trip, keep us in the loop both as you prepare and when you hit the road. I will be spending a couple on months in AK, Yukon and NWT in July and August.
