Aside from the feasability of a 1 wire engine swap; the Duramax is a damn fine powerplant, Assembled in America despite the Isuzu nameplate..... and has proven itself since introduction in 2001 (let alone being one of the more reliable worldwide diesel manufacturers) . Injector issues from the earlier D-max trucks are also common in almost every heavy commonrail diesel. Just ask the 03-up cummins guys about injector failures.

Don't get your hackles up, Silverado!:sombrero: I was just pointing out that the Dmax is an Isuzu diesel. I wasn't saying anything negative about them. I don't know enough about them to comment on reliability etc. I just know that it is much easier to swap a 6BT (or 4BT!) into most rigs due to the lack of computerized controls.

nice rig, always a fan of the pickup cab with the f700 nose, here's one from our local truck night, not an expo rig, thats for sure

Noobie

Just found this site, and thought I would post my latest project. I am going to put a straight axle under it and giving it a mild lift within the next couple of months. I have already seen some great ideas from some of the rigs on here:drool:. You guys might just get me divorced before I am done.

Start of My Build

I've had my F150 for 3 years and will start my build tomorrow. (I have not been able to convince my wife to give up her 2002 100 Series Land Cruiser as her daily driver. Otherwise, it would be my project truck.) Tomorrow, the F150 gets King Coilovers at all 4 corners and 285/75 18 Toyo AT's. These are my "before" pictures from last month dump at Lake Tahoe. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54898

:Wow1: Nice truck Texel! I am a big PW fan. I saw your truck the other day on Dodgetalk. The topper and rack look great on there. Not too sure about the wheels though. Those same wheels in black would have looked stealthy on a gray PW.

Welcome to Expo :wavey:
