90 K3500 with a 454 and 4 speed that I got in May for a song. I was just going to use it as a work truck, but I can't stand owning things that aren't as good as they could be. Truck is basically getting a frame-off restoration due to all of the work it needs. I work at a junkyard, so I've already got a rust-free cab and bed lined up for it. Unfortunately, the 454 runs really well, but leaks and uses oil terribly. I was going to just do a stock rebuild with the .030 bore it's going to need and an RV cam, but Larry pretty much has me talked into swapping an 8.1 into it. Especially since this truck is already setup for a big block. I've also got an NV4500 for another project that's getting re-appropriated for this truck. I'm half-way tempted to put a solid axle under the front instead of rebuilding the suspension, but I probably won't.

Even with all its faults and previous owner-induced glitches, I'm loving the heck out of this truck.

1970 Blazer I'm wanting to build for expedition travel. Was planning on doing a 6.0/6L80 swap, but I'm not for sure now. Removable roll cage, coil springs front and rear, 35" tires, etc.

Ow me like that old 70s Blazer! And dont listen to that Larry Guy. If you follow his advice your trucks will look just as good as his trucks.....:ylsmoke:

Looks like a good truck to start with, good bones. Does it currently have a drivetrain? What axles, gears etc were you planning?

Thanks, guys. It has the original 350/350/NP205 in it right now. I have no idea what kind of shape the drivetrain's in. I'm just swapping it out because of how far I plan to travel in it. I'm leaving the stock Dana 44 and 12 bolt under it, but will probably upgrade the axle shafts. I don't want to fool with putting 3/4+ ton axles under it. I won't know what gear ratio I'm going to run until I get started on it, and that's a ways away, unfortunately. I'm building both this and my '87 FJ60 for expo travel, and am going to take one across the country and hopefully up to the North shore of Alaska and maybe through Canada, so I'm going to gear it as high as I can get away with to help with mileage. Hence the 6L80 with its 4:1 first gear. Vic at Advance Adapters told me I could fit a circle-pattern NP205 to the back of the 6L80. If I go that route, I'll probably get one of the uber-rare 205's or get an Atlas TC. It is getting ARB lockers front and rear, though.

Not much done to it.. I have replaced the front and rear bumpers with Ranch Hands (bull nose up front) but don't have pics of it. Also have a topper on the trailer now, with lifting windows on sides (like back). I will try and get some updated pics, but until then:

Normally I would chastise you for posting that in this thread but you have hit a soft spot I have for Broncos. That was a very nice truck. Nice Burb too :)

Agreed. It's been a while since I saw a Bronco out on the road that still looked pretty nice. A friend I went to Wyotech with still has his triple black '96 Bronco that I'm jealous of.

That is not the Texas i have seen, that's beautiful!!

Where is that?

Looks like Colorado....I have not seen an area of Texas that is that nice either, but Texas is big and I could be wrong.
....anyway not much to look at, but a pleasure to drive, and only $600.
