Life with a Chevy powered Discovery 1

Kinda hate to post this, but I flew out to drive this rig home to NC. However, the death wobble on test drive reloy got me. From there I inspected much closer, and decided to pass and flew back home. I have bought many many vehicles over the years, and that was the first time I had to fly home empty handed.
No worries, I understand! The FS listing certainly made it sound like a diamond in the rough, when it was far from it! I'll do my best to set it straight. Just hope it doesn't bite me hard in the *** anymore!

Lastly, feel free to contact me if interested in my spare Disco R380. Good luck with her, and stay the course...
Thank you, but I believe I have one sourced locally (Utah), but I do need to find someone to rebuild and replace the Layshaft in my current R380. It will be nice to have my broken R380 as a rebuilt spare.

It's been awhile since I updated my thread. So heres a little blurb about the latest with my Discovery.
The exterior has come along. Lights are on and properly wired, as well as a 2013 New England Forest Rally plaque added to the rack. Over the winter I put a brand new R380 and transfer case under it. I added a set of Maxxis Bighorns and repainted the wheels. The ****ty exhaust was scrapped and I built a brand new exhaust which I routed out of the body behind the LR wheel. I'm currently in the middle of rewiring all the accessories. So far I've pulled an incredible amount of unneeded, useless and balled up extra wire from the engine bay. Who ever wired this truck really has no clue how to do any sort of proper or clean electrical work.

Looks good - saw you on 248 the other day.

Btw - FS41 (+side trip to Buckeye Lake) and FS35 off of 150 are pretty good right now. I had to turn around on FS35 earlier this week due to some pretty notable mud holes about 4.5mi in (didn't really want to risk getting stuck at 10pm).
And there's still icy snow covering lots of trails closer to Bald.
I haven't checked Wolf Creek/Mill Hollow for a few weeks, so I can't really speak about those.

Lots of downed trees blocking many of the less popular trails off 150 & 35, that's for sure, but you might be able to sort'm out.
