Arrggghhh!!!! I ordered mine about a month ago and, of course, paid full price!

I'm about half-way through putting it together and I'm pretty impressed so far. This thing at $2k is a friggin DEAL!

Do you plan to use as is or is modification on the radar?

As is. I have three boys that love to camp. I bought this just to make our excursions a little more comfortable.

However, the unit is SOA, so it wouldn't take much to add some larger tires and such...

Simple idea. Looks like it work well.

That took me 45 seconds

If you bought it from Costco, go back to your local store (or call them if this was all done on-line) and see if they'll give you a price adjustment.

I have the 1st generation and I am very impressed with the overall fit and finish. It is very well thought out and we love it. I had to beef up the tongue because it was very weak. Highly recommend the 1st gen if you can find one.

I bought the floor model 2 d gen from my local Costco for 1400 last summer. Great little trailer! I have used it more for hauling debris, rock and wood then camping in it.

As for larger tires, took spacers, new rims/wheels and a 2 inch lift on the shackles. I went to a 205/75/15. It they were close to the frame, so I initially put spacers in it to push the wheels out. Ultimately did not like that, plus wanted a better axle, so I opted for a 3500# axle.

Other modification include a pair of scissor mount jacks on the rear and a spare tire mounted under the tongue.

It is currently at a friends shop having a marine battery mounted on the tongue.

My current total investment is under $2200.

It is not an Expo trailer, but does what my family of 3 boys, wife and I want.

Sounds great! After the work you've done, in your opinion would it be possible to beef it into an expo rig? Is the frame strong?

I am sure anything is possible but I do not know. Mine has never seen anything worse than a fire trail. My truck has driven a dry river bed.

In short, I do not have the experience to answer your question.
