Lifetime trailer @ costco

Congratulations on your decision, any pictures yet!
It's been cold and rainy/snowy so I haven't taken it out yet. But I did just buy some 31" tires on 2.5"-backspaced 15x7's to give it a 4" lift for when I tow it off-road behind my lifted Tracker. I'll keep the OEM 24" tires on the OEM rims for when I tow it behind my SX4.

My 4x4 club has a run to Hollister at the end of this month. I'll probably get a chance to get some photos there.

Great I am looking forward to the pictures!

Did you do a lift as well ? I wonder if 16" wheels and 34's would fit on does fenders.

The only major hangup is frame clearance with the tires. These narrow OEM 13" wheels have only around 2.75 or 3.0 inch backspacing, so your typical car/truck wheel won't clear the frame. I didn't want to use spacers either, so I just ordered up some 2.5" backspacing Jeep rims from 4WheelParts. The tires give 4 inches of additional lift, but they interfere with the fenders so I'm making some spacers to lift the fenders up over the tires. Problem solved. :ylsmoke:

I've been slow to finish up the fenders. One is done, the other one is in-progress. I'm building the bracketry myself using some generic 32x9 trailer fenders I bought from my local trailer parts store. They fit perfectly over my 31x10.5 all-terrain tires on standard 15x7 wheels with 2.5" backspacing. The oversize tires make a HUGE difference in the trailer's smoothness rolling over bumps, and the additional ground clearance is exactly what the trailer needed to have plenty of clearance to safely travel down really rough trails. I'm super-pleased with how this turned out. I'll post up some pics ASAP.

Looks like the Jumping Jack trailer is gone...

"Jumping Jack Trailers are no longer available at BuyLifetime.com."

The Lifetime model is still available. I don't know if I want something like this or something more "permanent." I'm thinking about travel trailers, and there will be a thread up at some point in the future.

I forgot to update this thread with some photos of my trailer, as promised. It's been on a few great trips since I bought it and lifted it and added the Lock'N'Roll hitch. It's performed great on the road behind my Suzuki SX4, and it handles Class III trails without breaking a sweat and some Class IV trails with some careful driving behind my Suzuki Samurai and my Geo Tracker:

A couple large bins along with a milk crate or two allow me to easily lash my extra gear down and keep it out of the rain and dust. This also makes it quick and easy to unload everything off the top of it and start setting up the tent (which takes well under 10 minutes). I like being able to carry pretty much anything I want, no matter how bulky it may be. The trailer is plenty lightweight to tow behind such small vehicles, and after bouncing it off of plenty of boulders, the frame has proven to be quite stout. There's plenty of rock rash, but no dents or bends can be found. I may move the taillights onto the tailgate in the future since they're rather exposed, but the brackets are tough enough to bounce the trailer off of the rocks without bending enough to break the lights.

If you want to take a look at a JJ just let me know, I'm just a little north of Houston. Mine tows great behind my LJ.

I always liked the Jumping Jack, but it is just too big to fit on the trails I frequent, and it's just too heavy for my small little Suzukis to tow easily. That's why I was so thrilled when the Lifetime Tent Trailer came out, and I just had to have one.

Been lurking on the Web Site for better then a year now and wanted to add my two cents.......I finally found a trailer that is rather inexpensive, light weight and can load my Dirt Bike onto. Better yet it, it can double as a Utility trailer to boot. Just bought the LT trailer myself through COSTCO at $2800.00 including shipping. I plan to extend the tongue two feet in order to add a large Truck Tool Box onto the tongue area, that and reverse the platform clamps on the front to clear the truck box. So far VERY happy with the quality of this trailer. Depending on how it tows with the extended tongue, I may end up moving the axle forward to compensate for the extended tongue length but not sure yet. Again, VERY happy with the trailer build quality. 1st concern was that it was gonna be made in China and sub par quality but turned out to be made in the U.S. Also looking at places to add Water and Gas cans onto the sides, probably end up using angle iron to add platforms on each side of trailer, ahead of the wheels to allow carrying water/gas cans. Concern is that with the truck box AND water/gas in front of the axle, I will introduce to much tongue weight but initial project is to extend the tongue for the rather large and used Truck Tool Box I just purchased off of Craigs List 1st, then worry about water/gas cans later.
