Lithium Battery Info

I think you might be better off building a pack out of LiFePo4 cells. they are much safer (wont catch fire when/if overcharged) lipo fires are pretty much unstoppable once started. if the case of the battery is cracked open it will also catch fire. the only way i know of to put one out is to cover it in sand.

you can find the LiFePo4 cells on ebay (e-bike batteries, cells, etc..) they have all the benefits of lipo batteries but none of the dangers associated with them.

i deal with lipo batts on a daily basis... almost.

but they are small. for my RC cars. and yes, they tend to catch on the fire if handled INCORRECTLY. in fact some racing organizations and places, require you to charge a lipo batt in a "lipo fire safe bag".

LIFE on the other hand, doesnt have the equal voltage, but is much safer to use and dont require a fire proof bag to charge...
