A Wise Investment

An EarthRoamer overland vehicle is a high quality, handcrafted vehicle built to last. Our reliability is unmatched in the RV industry and cost of ownership is lower than owning any other comparable vehicle. Customer demand is increasing dramatically each year which keeps resale value high. We have a waitlist of potential buyers looking to skip our wait time for a build and get into a pre owned EarthRoamer quickly and several owners have sold their XV for more than they paid new. Low maintenance and high resale value mean you can feel confident in your investment.

Off-Grid

You’ve discovered the perfect, remote campsite, now kick back and stay awhile. The ability to live comfortably offgrid for extended periods of time has been a cornerstone of EarthRoamer overland vehicles since 1998. Quiet, efficient, non-polluting solar power, a large battery bank, highly efficient appliances and lighting, and huge fuel and fresh water capacities will sustain you indefinitely, all offgrid with no noisy generator or dangerous propane.

Not surprised to see that 6.4l had to be replaced at under 100k miles, Ford really went from bad (6.0l) to worse with the 6.4l, worst of all is the body has to come off the chassis to even address most of the problem areas with it, can't imagine the cost of having to deal with that on an earth roamer. GLWS though

Respectfully, your claim is inaccurate: the body does not have to come off the chassis, even for a full engine replacement. The 6.4 does demand more maintenance and attention, particularly for the generation of diesel owners accustomed to legendary 5.9 Cummins and 7.3 Powerstrokes, etc. which required less maintenance and were more reliable (though not as powerful, stock, and it should be mentioned each had a few problems of its own) but the main issue for both the 6.0/6.4 was the emissions system. If you can deal with the maintenance and emissions, as many many thousands of 6.4 owners out there on the road (and track) will attest, these motors are fine. In Canada, deleted trucks are commonplace and the 6.0's/6.4's run great. Are the 6.7's better? Sure they are, but no engine is perfect and for a variety of reasons we seem to have "evolved" past the era of efficient, economical and ultra-reliable diesel motors. Good replacement 6.4's (e.g. DFC up in Alberta) are actually excellent, reliable and extremely powerful. Replacing a motor, while a PITA, is not that big a deal on a rig like an Earthroamer. I don't know the seller or this truck. If it's in good shape, and an Earthroamer is what you want, it might be worth checking out. New Earthroamers cost well over 2X as much and are not significantly more capable.

Exactly, and I agree with all ya said sir.

This is a great deal for one of the last ones that still had all the goodies, and was OEM frame, before ER started getting into the custom frame lengthening stuff for the longer ones.

I think this one, and this exact model, are just the right size, before they went overboard with length and wheelbase.

I respectfully disagree. The 6.4 Maxxfarce was the single engine that pretty much ended International made engines. They are well known as the worst engines that Ford has ever put in a truck. I personally owned one that grenaded at 50k. The aftermarket value of any Ford diesels of the 2008-2010 vintage (it only lasted two years in production) trade at a steep discount for a reason. And deleting is not an option in most of the USA anymore with emissions standards.

The good news is that everything except the engine on the 2008 modeles was a huge update to anything before. Tranny, interiors, handling, fit finish is far superior to previous Super Duties. I personally would consider swapping in a destroked Cummins as it would be a drop in a bucket $$ on a vehicle like this. It's a totally doable and fairly common swap on these trucks.

To be clear this is a rad truck. I won't comment on my perception of value because it doesn't matter at all. GLWTS.
