Special order eh?! I'd guess a rear bumper or side bush guard attachments to sliders.
That suspension noise could be rear driveline vibration? Did you shim the rear when you lifted it? A little out of spec and you can get some noise and feedback around 40mph usually. Otherwise ball fount in front?
Good guess, but no
I forgot to mention, it happens when I go over bumps, and only when I go over bumps. They have to be large enough, and I don't hear it over undulations.
I've also heard of front-back motion in the LCA bushings, as opposed to the radial motion you might expect with wear ... or it could be the steering rack mount bushings, those can sometimes get sloppy (and PRG has a fix for it). Maybe a motor mount or trans mount, but those are less likely to be mistaken for suspension noise.
Can you duplicate it by jumping on a bumper or door frame, when the truck is stationary?
ETA: Trip plans sound great ... I'm sure you'll enjoy. Plus Gone will be there next year, I'm sure ... just be sure to take lots of pictures on your Glacier/Canada trip, so we can all enjoy vicariously.
I have heard of the front-to-back slop, and PRG has replacement wear pads that get rid of it. If I get to the point of doing bushings, I'd get those. I'm less inclined to believe it's a steering thing, because mine is tight as a drum. I also checked motor and tranny mounts, they look solid. Also the u-joints don't have any slack in them.
I can't seem to replicate it when stationary. The bump has to be fairly sudden, something I can't seem to do. I've lifted it with a floor jack and then dropped it suddenly, which doesn't seem to do it either. Like I said, I've checked out everything important so far, so its not something I'm worried about as far as vehicle operation.
Yeah it should be a good summer. You know me, there will be a photo dump after each outing
Sounds like a busy Summer planned. Hope we can meet up for a trail run.
Possibly a snorkel from Iron Man? What is it, the suspense is killing me.
On your suspension noise, double check your bumper too. Mine was making the slightest contact with my fenders when I would hit a bump and I thought it was the suspension. Bang the sides of it with your hand and see if it makes any noise. Just a thought.
On another note, since you are looking at winches have you considered Engo? I might be ordering one after my tax return gets here. Super light weight and it gets great reviews, let me know what you think. $399 with free shipping

Forgive me if you've already seen that.
Yeah I was going to ask you when the time got closer if you wanted to do a trail run. Perhaps Independence or Goose Lake?
We have a winner!! It's an Ironman snorkel. I decided to go with them for a number of reasons. I like their design the best (which is the exact same as the ARB design) , and I know it will be higher quality than the replicas I could get on eBay. Also, the price is right. I could have gotten the Safari version, but it would be more expensive, around $500. There's an Airflow snorkel with a decent body design, but the head of it is just awful. It's also more expensive. Then there's the TJM, which has a decent price, but I'm always back and forth on the design. The Ironman comes in at $375 and looks pretty good to me. So I should be ordering that soon.
Hey, good thinking. I'll check that.
You know, I hadn't heard of them. I'll look it over, thanks for the heads up! I'm always looking for weight savings.
