Great, now you got me looking at winches.

That is a tough choice the larger cable is appealing.

the X9 has a higher regular price and i am trying to figure out why

Always happy to make more work for people :D

You know, if you want a winch you'll need a bumper. :sombrero:

Haha so much to do, so little cash. I feel ya.

I'd suggest Shrockworks for the bumper. Yes the wait times are awful, but it's just about the only bumper made that will fit your truck just right. Look into an LED bar for the roof. The first gens really like to drink fuel so keeping everything as aerodynamic as possible is a good idea. I really like the idea of a soft topper for your truck. That would be practical and easy storage. Would look very cool too.

Have you seen this size in person?

Its the same one that I have, altough doable, its definitely a touch on the small side for two people for a week. If you are in the Northeast like me, and you constantly end up in town at some point you can re-supply, but out west you might not have that opportunity and maybe the larger 50L would be better?

I am thinking Shrockworks for bumpers. i don't really like the look of lightbars so i am back and forth between customizing the wind deflector on the roof rack to hold two spots, and the XOSKEL light rack, Floods would go on or in bumper.

That's quite the list! I've got a similar one going haha! Glad I'm not the only one who likes the Ausi style expedition rigs for these Nissans. If you want to get some Navara inspiration, the Navara.Asia forum is full of cool builds from down under. http://www.navara.asia/forum.php

I have seen those, but they are a bit more expensive and larger than I'd want. Good looking bit of kit though.

You know, I hadn't considered it, but it's only another $30 for the 50L from Equipt. I'll have to go measure to see if it will fit under the cover I am planning on. More fridge space would sure be nice!

I'd look at putting lights on the factory roof rack. Cheap and easy. And I doubt you'll see much from Xoskel anymore. I've heard a lot of reports saying he's not doing anything anymore and is impossible to get hold of. Also have heard of people not getting their orders or their money back.

Haha it's pretty comprehensive, but that's realistically everything I'd want to do to the truck to make it "perfect".

I love the Aussie touring look. Back when I was still building full size Chevys, I had a friend show up to my house in an expo'd out Tacoma and I fell in love with the style. That's why I bought a Land Rover, whose horrible reliability and Co-Opski's cool looking first gen led me to Nissan.

Haha I like navara.asia so much I joined :D

They are the same footprint, the 50L is just a little taller. I would highly suggest it.

Yep, I just have to make sure that it will fit underneath the tonneau cover whenever I get it

Where's the official hate-you button? Seriously, the truck looks greeeat! nice job!! :)

Hey, thanks stioc! Not gonna lie, it still makes me drool a bit from time to time :D

Shrockworks skidplates

So, since my hours have been cut at work (that's the hazard of working in retail after the holidays) I get to buy my skidplates piecemeal. Ordered the first one, an engine oil pan skid, on the 18th. Got an email today saying it's in transit. Luckily, they keep skids in stock so I don't have to order them all now to get them in time for summer.

Since it saves money and no one will see them, I ordered it in bare steel. I'll order them all this way and just paint them when I get them with some rattle cans.

Looking at building sliders now. I've got a friend who could do the work, but he runs one of the only machining shops in town, so he's a bit busy. There's a fab shop in town, so I'll get a quote from them.

Looks great! Glad to hear you're getting some armor on there, does the Nismo package consist of any skidplating from the factory?

Thanks! She cleans up alright. :)

I'm shopping for the right kind of treadplate for my rock sliders now. It's kind of hard to track down, and expensive when I can find it. The Nismo trim comes with a skidplate... kind of. It's like paper thin and only covers the low-hanging radiator. It's good enough for now, but I'll definitely be replacing it with a Shrock skid down the road.
