There is not much different between a LR4 on springs and a Landcruiser on springs - as bad as each other - one of the joys of the Discovery is its air suspension. Once you understand how it works - is very simple and easily maintained.
Funny. The same debate occurs over the AHC system on LC / LX forums. Love the AHC on my LX. Currently in the market for a LR4.
I would take the same approach with either- maintain as long as it makes financial sense. Change to coils if that maintenance is no longer financially acceptable. It seems there’s ways to get the car off the bump stops and drive off the trail in the event of an unlikely failure.
