I have always admired the P38 after driving one up the I5 for two days...- Question- Is it really true that there are fibreglass links on these things? Or was that just funnin'?

Dammit Bill, you got my black hat!! Want to trade for a tan one? :D

Justin and Eric are awesome. Always very competitive pricing if not the best. Always willing to talk. Always supporting the Land Rover community.

Give the hat away? Are you crazy do you know how many nights in Vermont I had to spend spooning to get that? :D

They are fiberglass. and they are very hard to break.

Ahh makes sense. It is amazing stuff.

I was surprised at the amount of effort required to get the P38 up to snuff.

So to synopsize, I would have to..

Install differential locks
Find a centre diff lock
armour my F/R differential and fuel tank
Remove the factory air springs
cut up my wheel openings
find religion to suppress electrical woes
get custom bumpers

Did I miss anything?

Great thread and I still want a P38. And a shrink!

There are a lot of other trucks that are easier to build but then what fun would that be?

they are very capable trucks. add some springs, shocks, winch wheels and tires. enjoy. I've had mine for over three years and still love it. i have 33's on mine.

i still have yet to break anything. but I'm not out there doing major rock crawling with it. i even drive it to work into Salt Lake on Occasion. its never left me stuck or stranded in 3.5 years.

Yes, you can. How much did you pay for them?

I've been off the forum for a few days and just saw the posts since my last. What a turd. You guys have pretty much said what I would have in reply. Well done, all of you. I don't want to get banned, but consider my opinion of this guy to be lower than squirrel ********. What kind of respectable person, especially one in the business and relatively small Rover community, comes into a sponsors thread and talks trash like that? Low class. That this guy has suddenly gone silent and deep says it all. That kind of nonsense forever gets you on the interwebs "avoid list". Again, you guys covered it with why Lucky8 is the real deal. When I called up there to order Erik spent a huge amount of time on the phone with me going over a variety of options to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. And they had the stuff in stock. My guess is these other places are "drop ship" retailers. You get to grow old and sit on your porch instead of wheeling waiting for your order. Why would you buy these critical, hard to find parts from some anonymous, web-page-not-workin' internet trolls when you get real, helpful, experts/enthusiasts in the form of the Lucky8 team?

Rant off.

Have any of you ever considered an LSX swap of some sort? I've got an extra ls1 sitting around and have been itching to put it to use. A Classic would probably easier but a P38 would look mean.
