Sandblasting the underside/suspension, coating the underside/suspension, and repainting the exterior is planned. However, I am not doing it yet. I am using this summer season to focus on using it, seeing how she handles and what else I may want. That way if there are any changes that really are needed, they can be made before painting. If I have to weld any additions, good to do it before the paint.

Got the water tank clean, picked up some straps to tie thing down on the inside, and now all that remains is mounting the 35s this week before the trip starting Friday morning.

I think I need a bigger truck!
Its looking great, what CVT is that, a Mt Shasta? I have a Mt Hood, cant say enough about how much I love the CVT...excellent product and great service. It is going to look great on matching tires! I have the opposite problem that you have, I have narrow venders and WIDE tires!! lol

Greg, how much crap does that fling up?

It is a Mt Bachelor. Which is perfect for the wife and I, plenty of space even with the baby. However, I have a feeling I will need to upgrade to a larger version in the next couple of years. I should have just gone larger from the start.

That picture makes it look a lot worse than it is. The wheels are 3.75" Back space and are a 7" wheel, it only sticks out about 1 1/2 inches. It is not too bad, and I fully intend on making new fenders or widening the existing ones with a 2" strip. I might just add some rubber to the outside, but that will likely look pretty hokey. It tosses up some spray, but I will also be installing some mud flaps which will help.

I opted for the Mt Hood, 4 person...ish. lol

the underside of the newer 1992 m101cdn's come with a really good protective coating. not sure exactly what it is made of but its thick, and it's sprayed on nicely. I'd check it out before just blasting it away and re-doing it.

Yeah, when I was under there doing the Spring Over Axle conversion and brake line relocation, I found some rusty spots on the underside of the tub and paint flaking off in alot of spots. The protective coating is great on the underside where the coating remains, but there's definitely spots in need of TLC. Maybe a touchup will be needed only instead of sandblasting, but I'll really plan that out better when I fully assess it and pick a direction to go after this season. The suspension components definitely need some TLC as well, functional but need a coating to ensure they last.
