Marine Battery Chargers

How would a marine battery charger hold up to a situation where there was a steady drain on a battery while the charger is plugged into 110? For example, say the usage on the battery was around 5 amps and the charger was rated for 10 or more amps, would this harm either the battery or the charger?

No harm, no foul. These chargers are designed to continue thier charge cycle even if you are drawing current from the battery at the same time. The net charge would be the rated output of the charger, minus the current draw. It would slow down the charge cycle but not cause any damage.

Edit:

Here's the Xantrex 20 amp charger set up I installed in my trailer, charging two Deka batteries. The manual stated basically what I posted above.
