Melting and cracking plastic trim in Cal

I'm in the process of replacing the plastic trim on a Disco II. AGAIN! Are there any heat-resistant options out there?

I would say, go with a clear solar-blocking film for the windscreen and legal-limit IR tint for the other windows as your best bet. the IR-rejecting solar windscreens are standard on LR's now and you would not believe how cool they keep a black-on-black interior.
