MG Metalworks Van Build

The van's engine bay harness/battery junction box is now nearly finished. All that isn't needed has been removed and the new circuits have been neatly fit into the fuse panel. I have a couple relay circuits left to finish up but that will only take a few minutes now that everything is wide open. My goal of no butt connectors is still in play since I was able to re-purpose a few wires with the correct terminals already on them. The harness has been reconfigured a bit to account for different locations of things between the 5.4L and the Cummins too. All of that was pretty easy when the harness is all stripped down bare.

This is admittedly a ton of work but I believe going to these lengths is necessary for a project like this. And now that I've done both the engine side and van side harnesses, all the while taking notes and making up my own pin-out charts, doing this again won't be too bad.

Hmmmmm..... I like the sound of that! Your work is spot on. I'd seriously think about buying one.

Dude, you are the man to be tackling an automotive engineering project of this magnitude.

If I ever trip the lotto, I know who I'm coming to see. LOL

Don't you have a pretty cool torque converter to show off?

Are you referring to this triple disk, billet beauty?

You may remember a while back I purchased some bell housing adapter parts that weren't quite up to my quality standards... I will have some new billet parts made shortly to remedy that problem. I decided to design my own and make a few changes for better fit up. I'll mostly likely be making more than one set of parts too ;)

I loves me some new tools!!! After a couple of decades foolin' around with tube benders and tube forming tools of various levels of suck, I finally found tools worth investing some coin into. I originally started looking for some Swagelok benders but came across a forum post about Ridgid's lower-cost copy. These are super nice and about half the price of the Swagelok units. I've bent some test pieces already and I'm very impressed. Same goes for the hydraulic forming tool. I've owned 3 different flaring tools and none of them even come close to this thing. It is a little clumsy with all of the dies and levers and dial but once you get it set up, you can make perfect inverted flares, bubble flares, push-to-connect.... I can't wait to use all this new bling on my stainless fuel lines!!
