Mid Atlantic Rally ( MAR) - Who's going ?

I have only had the Land Rover for 2.5 years. I skipped it the first year, went the second, and missed it this year because there was no point going without my truck.

I'm not sure if it's worth the trip, guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you have the time and money, why not.... it is the "Canadian Version" of a Land Rover meeting. So like all things, it's smaller and less well organized. There are some Americans who come up every year apparently.

I would think to make it worth your while it would make sense to make a week out of a trip up here and just tie it in. Go up to Algonquin Park for several days, then down to the OVLR, something like that.

Thats totaly misinformation. In fact the club site says fire wood will be provided free. They ask that fires be up off the ground in some sort of fire pit. This has been the same rule for @ least the past five years. The point being its not very nice to burn hundreds of holes in our host's field. Some people comply some don't. An old steel wheel is ideal.

Off the ground in a fire pit? Um, ok.
Never saw a camp fire at MAR. Not seeing the free fire wood.
Hope you guys have fun. Looks like the site may have some potential for some trails to develope some day.

I have had a camp fire every year I have attended MAR. From another forum:
"Yes, campfires will be allowed. Wood will be provided free of charge. A larger group bonfire will be going on as well. We are updating things pretty often, keep an eye on www.roav.org next week for more news on the event."

don't take it personal Mark- compare # of 110s to 90s, and that ratio again to 130s to 110s. A little 130 snobishness- but probably deserved, not that I suffer(ed) from it :wings:

Sam, will be heading up I95, if you want to meet above 40 on Friday late morning I would be game, Mark yes building a 130 lhd, 300tdi currently. But will likely have to settle for the 110 :sombrero:, I mean seriously your 110 is so nice I am a little embarrassed, and Dale you will likely have the pope mobile with the pope as your copilot, so please you always have the rarest of the rare. Having said that , I would be happy to roll up in my disco 300tdi :chef:

Dale's collection never ceases to amaze me. Aaron you have a stellar fleet as well, sorry I didn't get a hold of you when I was in Wilmington - too much cape fear beer and wine. Next time for sure though! My girl is looking to buy a place in wrightsville for weekend use so hopefully a lot more beach time in store for us.
