Might This Be The Best “Over Landing” EV?

Maybe an advanced, improved version of something like this human driven full sized drone will be the best overlanding EV to get you out in the back of beyond someday soon (and no special license will be needed either!).

While this⬇ one only has @ 500 lbs of capacity, two thin riders and some backpacking weight camping gear could be just the ticket for your next overlanding adventure. You just couldn’t farkle it up too much as some are wont to do with their showy new OL rigs?.

One big Q is whether this buy would qualify for the newest EV tax breaks. Another big Q would be EV range on a single charge.

But can you imagine seeing ? one of these slowly drop out of the sky, doing a smooth VTOL landing, out in the backcountry, and cutting in front of your approaching new EV Jeep, to then park and plug in to one the remote charging stations that Jeep is proposing to install?

“The two-seat flying car has two sets of wings with large ducted fans, a 500-pound payload, and wheels—this last feature is unusual since most eVTOLs usually land on pads. The H1 is designed to drive into a standard garage and recharge overnight.”

This futuristic rig is expected to have a range of 60 miles, and a top speed of 140 mph! Company spokesman says the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes. Bonus Round: It will also have a parachute to use for safety (hopefully the system to deploy that has its own backup charge!).

I’m not aware of its size, but if it were trailerable, that could greatly increase its potential…imagine pulling it on a flatbed until you hit the end of the good roads, and then quickly flying it in to drop down to your favorite remote fishing hole!

Like most enticing EV’s, getting a useful range with any of these types of newly designed vehicles will be a key to their success. I just read yesterday of a pretty interesting new EV Side by Side Ute, but its realistic fun use once again was very limited with an only @40 miles range.?‍?

These drone pods will replace wheeled ATVs regarding going out to the dunes to ride. Outside of that they’ll be local UBER type transportation across town. Flight time will be short.
They’ll also double as unmanned delivery drones.
Overlanding involves distances these rigs won’t be flying for another 40yrs.
