Snow on the Roof
O.K., I lied. One more bike. My last one I promise.

2014 BMW F800GT. This was my very favorite street bike. Relatively light weight, handles like a dream, in fact scarey what an old fart could do and feel perfectly safe on this one. I'm 6'1"; the bike fits 5'8"-5'11" folks much better. Even after I lowered the pegs and installed Rox Risers on the bars. Not made anymore, but if you can find a good used one, get it.

Now back to overland trailers. :sneaky:

Love me some moto pic's! Headed to Baja in March on my KTM 990 for ten days! I two know that I will one day have to give them up but until then I will ride like the wind... Awesome pictures of the new trailer design, you are really helping me make my decision, I think Expo will really be the finisher..

Thanks! Wish I could go with you to Baja. It is still my dream to bring Nanc and the trailer down there next winter. It isn't hard to guess from the pics that I was pretty much a BMW snob. Especially loved airheads and that F800GT. Now I'd love to get a KTM 790 Adventure!

This is one place you can't actually tow the trailer to. It is the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Took the pic a couple of years ago when two buddies and I backpacked down and around the bottom, from the south side to the north side. The overland trailer does make a perfect home base to do hikes like this out of. Wish I had it back then. BTW, it sure felt good to cross over that bridge, walk the short distance to the Phantom Ranch, and drop the backpack on the ground.

Amazing picture! I was just looking at the 790 last night but my other KTM is a 500EXC, amazing for the single track in Baja... Love the old BMW'S , I rode a friends 1200 and it was one smooth machine. I'll be hitting the PCT in 2021 for a through hike, Mexico to Canada, 2653 miles..

thanks. It is kinda cool what you can do with photo editing these days. I wanted to make it look sorta like a painting rather than just another photo. What bike are you planning on doing the PCT on? I hear more people are thinking lighter is better.

Oops! just reread that post of yours. Looks like your hiking. Good on you! What an incredible trip. Wish I was younger.

My Nancy at Yaak Falls a couple of summers ago. Actually, 14 years ago. Tucker my dog is now 14 y.o. He was just a pup in that picture. Yaak area is still pretty much unmolested. One needs a lot of time to get up there. Perfect spot for camping. The grizzly population is growing. Keeps the riff-raff out. ? Seriously, bring bear spray and have a hard shelled camper.

One of my favorite fly fishing rivers. Think its in North Dakota. ;) Don't ask. Lots of camping sites nearby.

Starting to plan a Heart of the West 2,800 mile loop for next September. Will be pulling Beastie and doing it with 3-4 other rigs. All ROF friends that I've been out with before. Should be epic. Expect some great pics starting in October.

Yep, only hiking and horses on the PCT, 2653 miles just for the trail not counting side trail to town for resupply! I'm hoping to be done in 5 months but it will depend on the snow in the Sierras next year!

Time for another camping/fishing pic. Just to keep folks interested. Think this one was taken in Nebraska, or was it Kansas????

Next summer Nanc and I are trying nymphing. Always used dries up til now. Should be interesting.
