Snow on the Roof
@WU7X I've been following this thread a lot lately. Originally looking at the Boreas (we rented one last fall and took it to moab). Neat trailer, but the wife pees in the middle of the night quite often, and now we are looking at the Mission. Question for you, how useable is the sink and stove? The boreas has the dometic set up as well and I found the stove took forever (i prefer a camp chef) and the sink was almost not useable (a bucket was easier). Also, any thought of installing rear support jacks?

Good questions. First of all, because mine was the first of these trailers to be built, I had Mark shorten the length of the passenger side rear cabinets about 2" to fit my PETT portapotty. This added space has worked really well for Nanc. she has the same issues as your wife. You will have to contact Mark about what he recommends for portapottys on his more standardized trailers now. If you look at some of Mark's pictures on Facebook and elsewhere (I don't follow Facebook, Instagram, etc.), you'll see he had made sliders with an opening to hold a Camp Chef type stove. Again, check directly with him on this. although Nanc and I have had no issues directly with the size of the sink (works great for us) we also carry to rectangular Rubbermaid basins that we can use when we have company and lots more dishes than normal. I have to note that he has made many, many changes to the new trailers. Both the sink and the stove are different models than the ones I have. a couple other things: much larger side windows, two propane tanks instead of one, a single piece rear door, moving the license plate for the driver's side fender to the back of the trailer, different latches, a completely different hotwater system, including shower, and a much better table mounting setup. All of these are real positive improvements in my mind. The trailer is a much better deal than what we got, and rightly so. He has had over a year to improve it.

So give Mark a call or email, text, whatever your preference, and ask him directly. He will be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks! I’ve been chatting with him on Instagram. Just wanted an owners viewpoint. I’m waiting for B&BRv here in denver to get a few so I can check them out. Definitely like the idea. The only want, right off the bat, would be permanent solar on the roof And trying to figure out how to get a shower curtain/awning up for the new shower system.

If you look at the black rectangular "pouch" above my propane tank in the picture below, that is where the foldout shower curtain that Mark builds is mounted and stored. Zip it open, pull out the supporting structure and the curtain falls down into a tall box shape for showering and or a place to put your Portapotty during the day. There should be some way Mark could manufacture a support structure over the new shower output in the front of this. guess you would have to make sure that the window up front was closed. Guess another question you'll have to ask him directly.

How big of a solar panel are you thinking about? Can it be mounted on the front storage box? the padded pouch that holds my solar panel is resting on the back passenger side of the trailer in the picture. When open, the solar panel is twice that size, it's huge! 180 watts. I have rested it on the top of the black storage box with the panel leaning slightly against the angled front of the trailer. Hope that makes sense. I find it easier to use really by setting it up on the ground and moving it slightly during the day to follow the sun. The pics show how I've done it in the past. Also note on the bottome pic that I just use the seven pin round connector from the trailer to plug directly into the panel. Mark is a genius!

The Renogy 100w flexible panel is 48x21.5x0.08 In and weighs 4pounds. Figured you could run 1 or 2 on the roof. The 160w is 59.2x26.5x0.08 In, just not sure of the useable space up there.

I hunt the backcountry, I would prefer stuff attached during the day.i worry about stuff disappearing.

Take a look at my trailer’s roof in the pic above. If Mark moved the fan forward or backward would there be room to mount your Renogy up there then?

I'm looking for as big a panel I can fit. A mounted panel is preferable as it is always wired up and no storage.

The trailer I'm looking at is newer. In pictures, it looks like storage under the sink and stove. Am I correct? I'm wondering where to put kitchen stuff since the fridge seems to take up all the box space on the P/S.

I borrowed this pic from the Mission Overland Facebook page, the vent on the current trailers is farther back and the white area is slightly recessed in the black surround. I went out and measured my roof. The overall width of the pop up is 55” and there’s 66” from the very front to the leading edge of the fan trim. The white panel is recessed 1/4” from the black surround. Just measuring the white section, it is 35” wide and 56” long between the fan and the black surround.

I can’t open the kitchen up right now, but my wife has managed to get a bunch of stuff in the storage under the sink and stove. I think there’s only 1 tall pot of ours that does not fit. I can get pics this weekend while we are camping.

We keep our pots and pans, coffee pot, cleaning items, etc., under there in plastic trays. also a butane long neck lighter for the stove. Most of our plates, silverware, cups, etc., are keep in an Action Packer in the back of my 4Runner.
