Snow on the Roof
A couple of pics from this past weekend. Camping along the Oregon coast Is limited to campgrounds only, I have not found any public land with beach front property that you can legally camp on. The good thing though is that this time of year the campgrounds are almost empty, you just have to put up with with the weather. This weekend we had rain, hail and temps with lows of 33* and highs in the upper 40’s to lower 50’s. But, there was hardly any wind and we had sunshine too. It was a great weekend!

Looks like you picked up a tire table too. It has turned out to be one of our favorite accessories for Beastie so far. Makes cooking and cleanup so much easier. We typically have been storing it on top of the bed surrounded and covered with pillows and spare blankets. Or, it gets lashed in behind the back seat of the 4Runner along with the portable 180 watt solar panel. How are you storing yours?

BTW, I’m lying in bed recuperating from my knee surgery. Seeing your camping pictures helps me get through the convalescence. Thanks! Please post more.

@volgold How is the house battery charged from the tow vehicle ? It has been my understanding there is a Redarc manager30 with DC, Shore power and solar capabilities. Is the solar hooked up ?

I'm planning to get a trailer but have many questions still.

Thanks

You can't really charge a house bank from a tow vehicle using standard wiring. The angry pixies can't get from A to B. But you can generally maintain the trailer fridge while driving without depleting the trailer bank.

I had a partial knee replacement last week. Viewing ExPo photos does seem to help, haha.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Once would think since the Redarc is a DC to DC battery charger there would be a separate circuit to the tow vehicle . Not rocket science. I guess some rewiring is going to required .

Any plug for solar since there is a built in Solar controller.

Hi all. Great thread. Dale I met you at RMOR and enjoyed seeing your trailer then. I’m in the market for a trailer. I would love one of these. They seem so well made and all the components are the best. My issue is I need somewhere for my 3 and 5 year old to sleep. John with MO told me in an email that Mark had made a prototype bunk system. For now I will wait to see if that becomes an option.

Our red arc is capable of charging the house battery off the tow vehicle

Hello! Actually, I think Mark has already built and installed such a system in one of his trailers. Maybe he can post a pic or two, hint hint ;)
