My wife and I were looking at the MO and are pretty set on it since the tetonX has a 2 year wait. We got 2 little ones and camp in the Colorado mountains most of the time. Wondering what options are a must when ordering. I was thinking of adding: Rack on the front box, 2 bunks, extra power tank and propane, spare tire carrier, roof rack. I already have three matching 4runner wheels so was going to use those. Planning on using my own ovs awning as well. Any other suggestions? Any idea on why the spare carrier is $845?

If your tow vehicle has the same bolt pattern and fit the trailer then you can just go with the vehicle spare if you are comfortable with one spare tire. The $875.00 cost included the spare tire and wheel. I don't know ,but the weight of the spare might be needed to keep the trailer stable when towing.
I have two propane tanks and have yet to run one tank dry. There are so many places to refill propane I don't see the reason to get two. (My trailer came that way) I do have a campfire in a can so having the second tank is handy.

The front rack on the box just makes using that area easier fir storage. My trailer did not have a rack but I figured out some storage for mine.

Have you gone to a dealer to see what they have? Most trailer come as is.

I have gone to my local dealer and got more info about it and checked it out in person. There is another $390 cost for the matching spare so it did not seem that the $875 included the spare. Talking to my dealer, they told me that they can make changes to one which is being built already on order for them so I can get the options I want. I just could not understand the cost for the spare mount and thinking about adding something myself instead.

I have the cot bunks in my trailer. In my opinion, they should be coverted to flat beds using some type of board. The cots are noisy and my son found them very uncomfortable. I converted our bunks to flat beds using 3/8 baltic birch and a rivet gun. It's WAY better.

We use the front box rack for firewood and a chainsaw. I wouldn't go without it.

I don't think the roof rack is very useful. The crossbars Mission sells are unnecessarily heavy and make opening the roof a bit harder. Also, putting a cargo box on top is difficult because of the location of the fan. In hindsight, I would have ordered without the rack and figured something out later.

I wouldn't bother with the extra propane tank either unless, like Mike, you have a propane firepit and just want somewhere convenient to store a tank.

You're gonna love it.

It clearly says on the webpage the spare tire carrier comes with a spare . Perhaps show that to the dealer.

If you are going to do solar , the roof is going to have panels on it .

Respectfully, I didn't say the door is a non issue for most. It is for us.

I can understand that. The door design is definitely a 'con' on the list of pros & cons. I think the number of pros on the Summit far outweigh the cons. That said, with children, we do have to take extra steps to avoid head bangs on the door. We put pool noodles on the corners when the door is open. I do wish there was a better way to design the door without sacrificing approach angle or interior under-bed storage. We are used to it now. It's a manageable issue.

Hitting our head isn't a deal breaker but the difficulty in closing the door is for us. That said, the trailer is high quality and looks fantastic. Built like a tank.

Adding two handles to the door helps and a strap to pull the door in. Depending on the door struts the door can be easier to close. My door is harder to close and my friends are super easy to close.
