Spotted last week in Mongolia - sorry for the lousy phone photos.

who says Aussies get all the cool stuff!

Looks like some other cool rigs next to it as well... Maybe a 70 series Land Cruiser at the end of the row?

What happens if that crew cab with the cabover camper needs engine work?

IIRC the NPR and FE Crew Cabs do not tilt for service, you have to do everything through the dog house or from underneath. Maybe the larger trucks are the same way. To me, this is one of the big advantages of having a COE, so not being able to tilt or having a complicated slide and unbolt and tilt process would suck.

The big American cabovers always tilted. My '81 Freightliner had a manual hydraulic pump to lift the cab. Here's a photo from the day I picked it up at the factory in Portland, OR :

I'd rock a single axle COE.I drove a Kenworth COE to it's owner from the shop.It was a better ride than I thought.

I really wish that they still did the HDT COE in the US market. Maybe they will come back some day.

This was a really tough little 637 shorty that came in to work today. Still under construction by the owner.

The little jib crane tucked into the left corner is to lift the spare wheel onto the roof.

There is a planned boom crane built into the ceiling to lift his 640 KTM Adventure up into this right side locker. Can't wait to see it all done.

This our new baby

This our new baby - 97 Canter running gear and chassis - there were apparently two of these made for a tour company in Queensland (would love to find the other one).

This will be our home for 6 months of the year - am fitting it out at the moment. (must find super singles for it)

Love our Big Blue Bus!

Hi again Alan......yeah. I've actually driven the other bus on Fraser with a load of passengers. It belonged to a company called Fraser Island Getaway Tours. Painted green with yellow lettering. They are based very close to my house but I am almost certain that bus was retired and scrapped about 4 years ago. By the way, i think it was turboed. I remember it was really strong in the soft sand. I'm still not sure if ATW built it but I'll ask if you like......more than likely it was built by Noosa Coach and Body which is where my boss and a couple of the old guys from ATW used to work back in the '80's and '90's.

Have you got a body builders ID plate on it somewhere....possibly in the stepwell?

I know my boss had something to do with it cause at the start of ATW they built this which was like the next evolution of yours

And that gave birth to this but this below is about 200mm wider than the others.

So there you go. That's the history.
