The flange came with some cheaper screws. So I had to walk over to the hardware store and get $2.76 worth of screws #8 and washers. The flange ended up taking most of my time. Sratching my head the best way to insulate this fridge.

2” polyiso on the bottom. But its weird. I cant let the fridge just rest on it. It will crunch over time Im sure.
I will come back with more brain power another time and frame it up. And have the polyiso rest in that.

Eporter. Thanks!! Yes your right. I decided to trim back the polyiso about 2”. And placed a 3/4”x2”x16” trim piece like the front. The stubby rubber legs will rest on it and place the weight onto the piece. The front flange unit rides on the front trim. Posting pics.

2” polyiso for the top of the fridge. Its going to need a shoe horn to get in.

Be sure to allow for adequate ventilation to the rear of the fridge so that the evaporator and compressor have enough cooling. Failure to do so will reduce efficiency and compressor longevity.

Can’t tell for sure from your pictures. I mention it because I almost sealed mine up without cooling consideration.

Special thanks to Stan that runs a custom cabinet shop. Gave me an expensive miter saw and lent me a huge rigid portable table saw.

Cabinets are on the way.

Posted are photos also of the rivets along the seal of the upper “black” fiberglass top and lower Ford metal roof. I will be sealing with Dicor along the rivets. Small capillary action and water. Barely any. But this needs to be sealed up. Also sealed the two roof expoxy spots wit Eternabond tape. White color over the two expoy spots to preserve the expoy from UV exposure. ?

The Isotemp 4 gallon exchanger has arrived. Yay! Will be plumbed into the coolant lines running to the rear HVAC unit.

A fourth Eclipse 100W solar panel arrived. Its 400W total now

A second Dometic CRX 50 arrived along with a stainless flush mount flange. Each one is 1.7 cubic feet. Raneys truck parts has them at about $500 with shipping. After going to smart and final for groceries. One was soooo tiny. Workable. But Id like this to be an enjoyable rig.

Espar D2 with fuel tank stand and full install kit from EsparParts.com. Great service. Great packing. Everything needed for a complete install. Came with the newer DigiMax controllers. I opted for this over the ebay chinese ones that use similar or same components. I always feel its better to pay for a quality product. Anyways. I cant wait to get this all together and have a capable and usable rig.

the existing shore power wiring has been taken out. Along with the two battery chargers. Saved a lot of space. Im glad I did too. One of the out lets had a bad connection. And again its all 23 years old. Not sure if I would trust it just plugged in anyways. Made me wonder what other gremlins were lurking in the looms. Saw some semi incorrect junctions to shore power input. So I took it all out. One would have possibly arc and shorted.

Electrician said its safer this way. Just using solar and the alternator. Its a brand new 220 amp. New aux batteries and new underhood batteries. Along with a new starter. Also the Kussmaul shore power hookup doesnt appear trust worthy. So Im choosing to stay safe and if need be shore power can be safely reinstalled down the road.

Accidently pulled out the wrong loom. It went to the rear flood light. Took about an hour to hook it up again. Major pain in the ass.

Getting ready for flooring and cabinets. Would be nice to bust out all the wood cutting in a weekend ?

Being 23 years old isn’t necessarily the problem. It could be five years old and have been messed with. That said it’s good you’re going through and getting rid of things you don’t need and repairing those you do.

Hey man! Yes your very right. New or old. You never always know, but hope its ok unless its checked out. I figure with the solar and alternator charging the house batteries. Its should be good to remove all that extra stuff. Thanks for the post

Hey. Is that my rig? While driving to a marine supply shop saturday. The driver side caliper was locking up a bit and pulling the rig that way. Caliper was rather hot when I stopped. Got it towed to the shop. Rather than risk any complications.

New OEM Ford radiator overflow cap. The Stant replacement would drip. Not good. This is rock solid.

Removed the two vacuum actuated heater line valves. To have continuous coolant to the 4 gallon Isotemp water heat exchanger and tank. Not sure if this will be the final location.

An exhausting 10 hour day working on the van.

Prepping the subfloor!

Yes. I used spray bleach foam and wiped every square inch of wood sublfoor numerous times. Super clean!!

Not needed. But I thought made a nice touch. Nice subfloor underlayment. And correct underlayment tape.

I had two tubes of clear EternaBond sealant for roofs. It went along all edges and seems and drivers whe well edge etc etc prior to laying down underlayment.

Laying planks. It was a total pain and lots of work. Nothing is truly straight. Even working around existing “straight” cabinets. Tedious work. And I hand filed certain trim corners to have super close and nice fit and finish.

Blew threw two boxes of luxury vinyl plank flooring with a ceramic wear top. Have to pick up a third tomorrow.

Power steering fluid low!! Wont drive it until it gets filled.

Each plank carefully prepped
