Money Burning a Hole...

Ok guys, I have about $2500 that I am willing on using towards my truck. I have an '08 Tacoma DCLB (Sport w/Factory LSD, fitted with an Aluminess front bumper, full BudBuilt armor, hybrid sliders, I am also running 265/75-16 (E) Toyo mtr. I'm slowly building my truck for mild expo use. My options are regearing to 4.56 w/ ARB in the back possibly something else for the front (to help with the added weight), rear high clearance bumper w/ swing out. If there are other suggestions I welcome the input.

EDIT: ARB air locker or an auto locker?

BTW the truck is my DD so I don't really want to go with an automatic locker. :coffeedrink:

do you have sliders? that would eat up some of your $. Also, if I had that money I'd add the ARB in the rear...but do you really need different gears?

I do have sliders. The reason I say re-gear is I have a hard time maintaining speed without the trans downshifting to get my speed up. It's also from the added weight I have added to the truck as well. Oh I already have an upgraded suspension.

Bling $ 1,000
Road Trips $ 1,500

I'd say bling $500 or less (come on, if you have to think about how to spend the money, then there's nothing you really need, is there?)

Then $2000 road trip ******. :ylsmoke:

You can do an awesome road trip for that. :wings:

Or you can divide it in half, do a road trip now and save the $$ for the next road trip.

I'm just trying to figure out what I should do first. On one of my off-roading trips I dented my rear bumper when I slid into a tree...it's just cosmetic but it would be a good excuse for the new rear bumper. I'm leaning heavily towards regearing and adding the locker.

I am bias as well.

Beer, gas, food...(not necessarily in that order)

Instead of an ARB rear locker, I would comb the salvage yards for a stock Toyota electric locker...heck might be able to find a whole rear end assembly for the cost of the ARB.

I would put 1500 in savings, and spend 1,000 on food, beer, and gas.

Like I said, gas, beer, and food. The internet seems to spawn people who are more focused on modding there vehicle than actually using them. As is your truck is quite capable, go enjoy it.

Actually with the factory limited slip diff, it leaves much to be desired. It's a little better than having an open diff. but I made the mistake of getting the sport.

I would see if you can get an E-Locker 3rd from a junkyard or something and re-gear that. The wiring harness might already be in place.
