$10!? That is a killer deal. I think the mile marker ones were $20 or $40 each? Either way I need 3 to replace all of mine and didn't want to spend the money when I looked.

Well, I'll probably be scarce on the forum for a bit. Going into hibernation for a week or two...but I will be working...here is a sneak peak...

Just realized that those were blocked because they're in a privet album...here is a dark shot that I took when I finished mocking up the ladder and trimming the platform to a length that was desirable for the tent fitment...I hope to be done within the week. Should be a great savings. I've saved everything (expense wise) for a very accurate count. I've also kept good track of how I made everything/the design.

Well, it's be awhile since I updated this...mostly because there isn't a lot to update unfortunately. I'm still sitting with a half finished RTT, and been too busy with summer work to mount the ladder and finish the tent material itself. shouldn't be more than a day's work. I hope to finish it in the upcoming week.

Here are some pics

Here is what it looks like folded onto the roof. I will be making it "square" for the visual reasons, and making a decent cover for it.

Here it is opening, prior to evening the hinges and securing everything much better...You'll have to click the image to see the short clip

Looks good, Mitch. I can't wait to see the finished product. How much did parts/materials cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't have the tally with me right now, but I was just under $200 for the base materials, I used one of my tents and found one on craigslist for $25, and then the ladder was $70 I think...all in all I will be done, including mounting to the roof rack, for under $350 I think.

Thanks for the support, guys! Talked to my dad, who will be doing the real sewing, and unless this heat continues (high 90's with 80%+ humidity) then it should be sewn up this weekend!

Sorry for the lack of updates. Like I said before, I took a break for awhile. I was burned out on working on cars. Now that I'm caught up with most of the stuff around the house that needed to be done, I'm back at it.

Today I took the RTT off so that I could mount the ladder easier, and I'm not sure if I need it on or not to sew it up, I don't think I will.

I also "finished" the second battery tray. It was super easy, I was just slacking. Please excuse the dirt, my underhood is in need to a good cleaning...

Obviously the PA speaker will get getting moved when a battery goes in.

Nice progress! Summer gets so busy, I can totally relate to where you are coming from.
Any way, good to see you back on it.

Thanks! Going to be taking a trip to a place my father in law hunts this weekend to help put up a blind...might catch a couple things down there to do.

Getting motivated pretty quick to do some work on it. Wanting to do the KAT, or at least a section of it, sometime this year. Need to make some finishing touches that I never made before!

Working on the RTT as I type this. Mounting the ladder. Tent have been sew up. Just have to mount ladder, attach tent, and I'm going to make a stop for the ladder as a safety precaution. Getting pumped!
